We have received a TON of emails regarding the Spring '02 release of our Single Turbo LS1 F-Body System.
I just answered a response in the Sponsor GP Forum, and wanted to give the FI guys the same heads-up:
Quote:
"We are still shooting for an early Spring release. I'm pretty sure they'll be ready to go by the the first to middle of March.
Pricing should be in line with the current Superchargers available. With an all out Street/Strip kit going for roughly $5900, and a street kit selling for about $4900-$5200. At least that's the plan.
I'll tell you this. It will be THE MOST complete kit ever available for an LS1 F-Body. It will include turbo, front mount high-flow intercooler (capable of supporting 800fwhp) with all aluminum piping (major weight savings), MSD 50# fuel injectors, dual in-tank fuel pumps, PCM tuning, Random Tech's new stainless 3" race flow catalytic converter, stainless 1 7/8" primary manifold (large enough for even the best ported LS6 heads), stainless exhaust piping, blow-off valve, HKS wastegate, boost controller, boost guage, A-pillar pod, the best silicone hoses, stainless high pressure clamps, and every single nut & bolt necessary to finish the complete install without ever leaving the garage.
The best part is, it will be VERY simple and cost effective to upgrade the base kit at a later time. All that will be necessary is buying the larger turbo and sending your PCM back to us for re-flashing. You won't need to upgrade injectors, intercooler piping, fuel pumps, etc. Using the Street/Strip kit on a stock engine M6 car, 500 rear wheel Hp should be no problem.
We are currently doing the development and installing this kit on a customers' 2001 WS6 Trans Am M6. With only a Star Spec Carbon clutch, and no other mods (not even a lid!!), it baselined at 308rwhp. We'll have some progress pictures to post within the next 2 weeks."
We'll keep you posted...

With a 9lb spring in the Deltagate, it can handle 12-14lbs of boost with no problem.
If you plan on running 15lbs and higher, you would need to upgrade to the Racegate (the same wastegate I use on my car now).

Sounds like a great setup!!
What is the collector size on the turbo manifold where it bolts to the turbo itself?
Will the turbo oiling be gravity fed back to the pan? or pumped back? What side of the motor will the turbo be on? (Pass side or drivers)
Best of luck with the setup it should FLY!

Chris, the actual collector is 2 1/2". The turbo oiling is gravity fed into the tapped oil pan.
The turbo is mounted on the driver's side, just like the turbo Tech kit. The difference is that we use stainless 3/8" flanges, and 1 7/8" stainless piping that aligns perfectly with either ported or stock exhaust ports.
Hope that helps.

Rob not to sound like a sour apple but can any of my turbotech stuff...like manifold be upgraded to your stuff? Have you guys found a better way to do the exhaust crossover as I think thats a terrible restriction on the Turbotech kit. great deal putting everything together....at a great price too.

Yea, we've definitely got more offers for guinea pig cars than you can imagine!
WOT247 - That's all the videos we've converted to the computer. I think some other people have made some videos though. You want to do a search and see what comes up.
Cablebandit - We think that EVERYTHING in the Turbo Tech will be able to be upgraded. Our crossover is different (and better), as well as the turbo manifold, intercooler, piping, wastegate location (easy access, rather than under the car)throttle body connection (not a cheap rubber hose), fuel system, tuning, etc. It just depends how far you want to go.
Hope that answers your questions.

How about, "friendly competition"? That sounds a little better.

Woohoo!!! Sounds great!
I am thinking of doing a second project car but this time turbo. I really like the idea of doing a single, and I know you have done a tone of R&D in the last three years.

I know Rob has gone through alot with his kit and I know this kit has the most R&D into it out of all of them since it started from his orginal issues, as he ran into something he made it better.
The kit is a result. This is going to be a great setup, if the C5 version is out soon maybe I'll need to add a 3rd car

Rob,
I was wondering what the computer programing is going to set the rev limiter at? If it is going to be around 6,500 - 6,800 or so, do you suggest that someone who buys the kit should cange valve springs to say the Z06 springs?
Jason
