This car is one really impresses us! We took Scotts SS to US 131 in Michigan. With the boost on the low 6lb to 7lb setting, and 14 psi of tire pressure in the M/T Drag Radials, this car was severely traction plagued!
This car would of been in the 10's with a couple more passes.

We were going to run more runs and up the boost, but they kicked us off the track for not having a cage! Bob

That's a good problem to have....I guess!

Good luck with it, should run pretty hard at the higher boost.

I'd like to see it in the low 10's, which I think is possible with some traction. Bob

Well, we'll see who gets there first...you or me!!

Although, you have one hell of a head start on me, I don't even have my motor yet!

I was at 131 today and saw the car run.

The cam is rather large. When he fired it up so I could listen to it, it stalled out the first time. Car ran relatively well though. The pass I saw it run was an 11.2X @ 121. Then they ran a higher boost setting and hit a 11.3X @ 126mph.

Car is fairly traction limited on the higher boost setting. With some better tires should be in the high 10's. I would change the cam out though, but different strokes for different folks.

Temp today was 50-52 degrees steady, with no wind. I do not know the rest of the figures to calculate the DA.

The last run, Chip tried switching to the higher boost once he was in 3rd gear. In doing so, it blew the silicon hose apart where it attaches to the maf. We didn't find that out until we got the car back home. I guess it's a good thing we used the roll back to take the car up to Michigan... Bob

JZ 9Z SS I only did it twice when i was checking for leaks my friend is the one who notice it was making boost with no load yeah the 60-1 is on now i havent taken it pass 3 grand and have not floored it due to it being a new motor ii was going to take the turbo off but due to the loss of back pressure i did not. Yeah that 427 make that tiny turbo whistle loud its more annoying then fun i have about 800 miles on the motor and after the second oil change 2 weeks ago i added 1/8 of a quart no smoke and feals strong cant wait to dyno it!! should i go 76 trim or 67 i have been told 67 for faster spool time and more TQ. im not putting more than 13 psi on this motor 650 is my goal is it possible????

76 would make that easily possible.

is there a BOV on this setup?

seems like there is a trend brewing with AUTO cars, STS, and blowing couplers.

Yes there is a BOV, however, we're looking now into it being a potential problem, possibly being the culprit. I wouldn't ever install a turbo without a BOV, regardless of it being a stick or an automatic. Bob

Approx 24k including the turbo and all related parts, engine build and all parts, brake rotors, tires, wide ban gauge and other gauges. Also includes Spohn torque arm, and some other suspension parts. Bob

This is why the car stalled out the first time we fired the car up for you to listen to it. It normally fires right up...

Chip made the last pass of the 3 or 4 passes we got on Scott's car at US131, and thought he heard a pop when we let off the gas after going through the traps, but he said the car drove okay on the return road. Later that night we found this reducer had torn apart, where it connects the intercooler plumbing to the maf. This picce of silicon is made by OBX, and we found that it rips apart about as easily as cardboard does. You could continue to rip it into two pieces very easily. Luckily we had used our rollback to get Scott's car to the track... Bob
