Good budget conservative street blower. If your looking for big HP numbers, don't bother. If your looking for big track numbers, don't bother. If you live in hot climates, don't bother (you need to replace the stock fans which can lead to overheating problems in hot climates). If your going to buy it new, don't bother (you can find them second hand for a fraction of the price). If your lookign for an easy dependable way to bolt on 100 hp. for mostly a street car and where you can find one second hand at nearly a third of the price of other blowers then try it out.
buddy's powerdyne with 6# pulley and borla catback picked up ~90rwhp 401/406 were his numbers. his current numbers with mods are 445/430
above numbers being on 91 ocatane btw.
if your deciding between the 2 and ever want to make more than 420-430 at the wheels get the vortech or ati.
if your only looking for around 400-420 at the wheels and want stealth then find a used Powerdyne.
as far as poor track times, I dunno Andrew, on street tires not being able to floor it until 3rd gear I ran 117mph. I think with real tires it would trap 120mph and run well into the 11's

BTW it's not a piece of crap blower <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />
They don't have the potential of a vortech or ati yes, but they are silent, maintainence free, extremely easy to install, and do a decent job.
I've run mine without issue for 2 years, my brother has had one on his mustang for 5 years, no problems.
It's a bang for the buck blower. You can easily get 400+rwhp/400+rwtq to the wheels for under $2k. To each his own but generalizing like that is just ignorant.
If you want bigger numbers then yes get a bigger blower. That's exactly what I am doing. The powerdyne has served me well but I will be moving to an ATI to reach the new goal of 500rwhp.
