Default Guestimated RWHP???

Hello all:

My car is almost ready. All they have to do is work out the tune.

I currently have the TTi race kit (Turbonetics T76GTQ trim), built 370ci iron block with 8.5:1 compression, 60# motrons, factory ECU w/LS1Edit tuning, which is working out very well, and a TH400 w/3000 stall converter. I plan on running about 15PSI on pump and about 20+PSI on race gas.

Just wanted a guestimation from everyone. On a good tune, what do you think she'll do? This will be on a Mustang dyno.

I think she's going to push somewhere around mid 7xxhp @ 15psi and probably north of 900rwhp @ 20psi...Good luck and keep us posted

Thats seems kind of high to me (especially the 20psi guess) because he has an auto/stall and its on a mustang dyno. JMO though.

What kind of heads/cam?

I am gonna guess 580-600rwhp @ 15psi and 700rwhp-720rwhp @20psi all on a mustang dyno...

Whoooo Quick I think you are way undershooting it... I make 560 with an STS and a 67 Trim turbo at 9Psi. I think 98 is pretty close... I dont know what it will do at 20PSI however... 850 maybe

625rwhp 15 psi (Mustang Eddy current dyno), and 750rwhp 20 psi. Really I have no idea and just wanted to post.

I estimate you will need bigger injectors for 20psi

I have been hesitant to try those, some people say they are fine and others say they cant get the car to idle right with them and transitional fueling is terrible. I know Andy at A&A Corvette (sponsor-->) sells them, may want to give him a call and see what he thinks about the high impedance 75s. I'm going to use low impedance 75s or 83s and a converter box this year I think.

A T76 with a Q-trim at 20+psi is going to be tough to make good power (if any more then 20 without side effects) without backpressure becoming a big issue. Also the IAT's will be screaming...make sure to pack plenty of ice in the IC.

~95 lbs/min, 2.36 PR, you will be way off the compressor map....~55% efficiency. Your compressor outlet temps will be floating ~410-420DegF.

Just something you may want to think about.

So, what PSI nets the best efficiency for my setup?

I noticed in INTMID8's post on a similar setup here (TTi race kit hot parts) he was able to make around 900RWHP (though it was an M6) but he is running a bigger A/R on the Innovative Turbo than my Turbonetics (1.15 vs my .96). Or, are there more differences between the Innovative and the Turbonetics as far as efficiency/power is concerned?

I don't know if it is possible to switch to the T76GTS with this TTi race kit. Would that help any? Guess I'll have to make a couple of phone calls. (or if mightymouse or anyone else have input, please chime in).

700RWHP @15psi. And if you don't run out of injector at 20 psi around 900rwhp... Thats my guess.

The difference between an R-trim and Q-trim wheel are very large. The R-trim will produce ALOT less backpressure since it is larger and also is the ONLY T4 turbine wheel that has a 100 trim.

The 60's better be boost referenced with a regulator. Saw one graph with them at +800rwhp, another at +1000rwhp....both boost referenced.

In order it would be...

O, P, Q, X, S, R , S4 and TM1....forgot about the last. The TM1 is new and is very hard to get right now.

BTW, the X is a touch smaller then the S. Its an R-trim wheel with a step cut into it.
