How many are interested in the Kenne Bell potential?
I've been kicking an idea around for a few weeks now, anticipating the upcoming release of the LS1 Kenne Bell screwcharger kit. Its due out on Feb 15th for the C5 Corvettes. Preliminary results are showing about 540 rwhp on a bone stock LS6 Z06 Corvette, at only 8 psi boost, pump gas. The kit is capable of pushing enough air for approx 800-850 crank HP on an engine dyno.
Enter my 98 Formula drag car project...
I have a low compression 408ci iron-block built by LME, with a set of out-of-the-box AFR 225 heads on it. Its built to handle a large turbo, which I plan to install to compete in True 10.5 class racing. But, for fun, wouldn't it be interesting to stick that new Kenne Bell blower kit on that 408ci and see how quick it could go? The car is VERY lightweight, and basically has the best of the best parts on it. Its probably going to be in the 3000-3100 raceweight range. Here are the pics of the Formula
I hear that the current quickest KB Blower car is a mod-motored Mustang in Houston. 9.3X ET range so I hear. I'm betting I could put this car in the 8s with that kit on the 408ci. Probably only need around 18 psi to do it.
So, how many of you would be interested in seeing a Kenne Bell get pushed to the limits in an f-body? Should I take that Mustang's title away?

what size blower is the kb? the whipple is a 2.3L and I'm gonna be pushing it to the limit on my LME 408 this spring. I'm not expecting to see more than 550rwhp on my truck. Granted, i'm probably losing a lot more thru my drivetrain than you are.

Why have the fastest Kenne-bell car when you could have a faster turbo car, IMHO skip the blower and go straight to the turbo. I do not think you'll regret it.

I was thinking of doing the same with my car once the kit comes out. I have always been a big fan of KB products. I just wish that they made more products for GM stuff. I say go for it because I need to see what mods I would have to do in order to make that KB fit under the F-body Cowl. I would definitely love to hear the KB whine under the hood of an F-bod!

Tony, do you really have to ask this question? Hell man, you have the means to do it, then do it. It would be a ton of fun to poke at the Stangs if you can do it. Are you scared
