Default Should I go for it??? (408 build)

Here is what I am looking at doing for my Procharged D1SC GTO Setup

Bottom End:
Iron 408 with 9.0-9.2:1 compression
Core 6.0 LS1 Block
Eagle 4340 LS1 4.000 Crankshaft
Scat 4340 LS1 H-Beam 6.125 (.015 offset)
Wiseco Custom Pistons
Wiseco Custom Pins 9310 .170 wall
Wiseco GF Piston Rings
Federal Mogul 152M 3/4 Groove Main Bearings for LS1 (coated)
Clevite CB 663 H Rod Bearings for 2.100 SBC Chamfered Race
Bearings (coated)
Federal Mogul 1888M Cam Bearings for LS1
ARP 234-5608 Main Studs for LS1

Heads:
ETP CNC Ported 240 Heads
New Castings with 11* Valve Angle
Fully CNC Ports and 58 CC Chamber
2.100” Stainless Intake Valves
1.570” Stainless Exhaust Valves
FTI Dual Valve Spring Package
Viton Valve Seals
Includes Custom Rocker Stands
338/231 CFM at .600” – 4.000 Bore

Custom Grind Cam

Upgrade to a custom FMIC system to support the power.
Go to 75# injectors high impedance
Boost regulated FPR
Eventually build the tranny...
Nitrous Outlet Plate system (50-100shot) Probably won't go on for a while though

Anyone have any guestimates of what I should be able to put down with this setup in the M6 GTO?

So should I go for the big build up!? I know its my choice and I am pretty set on it, but does anyone think I should do anything differently in the build?

Oh yeah... also What pulley combo do most with 408ci Procharged setups run to achieve 13-15psi? This is something that has me stumped...

Looks like you have it pretty well thought out, I'd go for it. You are procharged right now correct? What pulley combo do you currently run and how much boost are you seeing? Don't know if a D1 will cut it with a 408, might have to go with the F1 if you can.

Yeah I am running the Procharger right now making a little over 600rwhp/500trq at 10.5psi on the stock heads and stock bottom end. Thats with a 3.85" pulley and 7k RPMs. Not sure on the crank pulley size to be honest, but I believe its just the standard pulley.

RevXtreme will be doing the tune/work on the car and they have a few D1SC powered cars making over 725 at the rear wheels with 408s.

I'd go with the F1 for the 408, and yes, I would do it, if you can afford to. You'll be at 800+ hp with the heads you're looking at, along with a good camshaft and somewhere around 16 psi of boost. The GTO's rear-end is never going to forgive you!!! Bob

Does anyone know what the F1 head unit will cost me? And will Procharger trade my D1SC unit for the F1?

Sell the D1 unit yourself and buying the F1 head from someone like Bob @ EPP....

you will have to go with a spool in the rear now definitely. might want to look into beefy driveshaft and building up your trans along with like a spec 4 clutch now rather than later.

its only money. if you want to be top dawg among the gto's go with a turbo.

Don't forget about the crappy IRS I have to deal with... I can get a spool, but I opted for the 2way differential instead! Already have a 3.5" Aluminum DS from BMR along with all their other goodies. And I plan on sticking with teh Spec Stg 3 clutch until the tranny needs a rebuild or this clutch just won't hold on anymore... Shouldn't take long! haha

No turbo for me... As much as I would like this car to be an all out drag car it will never be just that. It will always be a street car with tons of power to pretty much terrorize anything on the streets. When I want to build a big time race car I will build a Camaro/TA!

since the gto is heavy as a pig already and the power level you are going for is not astronomical i'd go with an ALUMINUM 402. Even though the power level is going up you are adding 100+ pounds to your front end.. Plus since the engine bay is already pretty heat soaked that iron block is just gonna make it worse. just my opinion. lighter=more power to weight ratio.

Spec 4? I was thinking more along the lines of a Textralia

Thats what I will probably end up with. but as of right now I am not concerning myself with the tranny. Just worrying about building the motor and Getting it running. Then comes the tranny/roll cage/nitrous.

textralia for the win , might as well do the clutch and have the tranny built while its out of the car than have to drop it later. I'd go with a denny's nitrous driveshaft, forget aluminum.

maybe do a ford 9 inch too!
