I had mine on a front mount it was the heat that caused the thread to start unraveling along where the metal band went thru.

There is also the option of ceramic coating everything as Zombie has mentioned to me. I reckon as long as you are happy with the turbo blanket, that means you don't have to take things apart and send things out to get ceramic coated, and as long as nothing snags or nicks the blanket then I would think either is a nice option.

Have you seen the DEI "roll your own" turbo blanket kits? Just wondering, as the price is certainly less than the premade ones. They call it a Turbo Installation kit.

Did you or any one else have to make a bracket and hanger for the turbo? My exaust slips on to the y pipe and that twist, which allows the turbo to sag a couple inches.

we added some extra padding at the exhaust bracket that brought it up quite a bit, if you have a good welder or shop what you can do is have them weld your exhaust together but twist your part with the STS turbo on it so that it twists and brings the turbo up, then while holding have someone weld. LOL. preferably fix it to where it holds there then weld it. I will be doing something similar to that soon, along with building a bracket that fastens to the lower panhard bar from the turbo housing bolts

Mine? Goodyear F1 GS-D3

I personally really like these tires and they stick pretty good. I'm debating between them and the BFGoodrich high performance for my next tires.... I have had several friends with the BFGoodrich, but they have all said they don't last as long as these goodyears do.

I have the Goodyears on my car, only complaint is they pull hard on worn or grooved roads.

Well went to the dragstrip, at Lowes Z Max dragway, and made the one pass. something was on that track...either water from the snow...or something...no one was running good passes.

ran a 13.59 @ 112.16 mph 2.23 60foot and I was babying it out the hole!!!! she even spun over in the top of 3rd and 4th gears and it doesn't do that on the street.

came back into the pits and parked the car after letting her cool, and to continue the saga of oil in exhaust pipes, I had just the smallest amount that I could barely see. SO, I will be installing all of my upgrades this next weekend when I go home (will have some pictures for ya ) and I will have my exa pump installed and I will see if it has these oil problems, but I'm guessing that it will , as I Believe that no matter what we need to restrict the oil going to the turbo as no matter what the pump is it won't keep up, but I may be proved wrong.

Mods coming this weekend:
* Koni 4/4 shocks all the way around
* Spohn Torque Arm - Crossmemeber mounted - for Kooks LTs
*Exa Pump
* other miscallaneous mods and fixes

How are you planning on restricting the oil to the turbo?

I picked one up from Integrated Engineering. www dot intengineering.com/063-inch-Oil-Restrictor-p3333550.html
I selected it because it was specifically designed for our turbos and it has a swivel in the middle for easy installation.

It HAS BEGUN......

New Tires

Koni 4/4 Fully adjustable ON the car

***** This is the truck radiator hose that I bought (found) and had the brilliant idea to use it for my intake plumbing to replace STSs pipe that goes OVER the axle. You will find that these pictures clearly show you the part number and its a FLEETRITE tube. Hope this helps those wondering how to get a straight pipe that is also flexible

******
This is the new Exa Pump from Turbowerx, hopefully with this pump always running in high mode we can avoid any oil in the intake/exhaust pipes. I have just recently taken apart my intake and exhaust pieces, and I have no oil residue on my intake side. The only oil I have run into has been out my exhaust pipe.

Rear suspension on, Torque Arm on, Exa pump is installed...can't remember right now if I took a picture of it..posting what I got. Also with the exa pump, I have had to buy some more tubing 3/8 and some 90 degree fittings as the STS had the 90 degree fittings and that gave the best result for all the oil lines being out of the way of things.

Ok, about pinion angle. I have spent 4 hours on this damn thing and let me tell you it was aggravating that the car had to be close to the ground "level" as if it was sitting at the dragstrip...BUT it doesn't matter if its in the air or not.

The thing is, on the ground I measured -2.5 and -0.5, yielding me -2 (Which is simply the difference)

Well after spending 3 hours getting that sit, we lifted the car on our lift and decided to check out the angles then.
As it has been said you want to see your TRUE DRIVELINE ANGLE, so BOTH THE ANGLE ON THE DRIVESHAFT AND THE REAREND (PINION) matter.

Well, with the car on the lift we measured -8 and -6 do the math on it and you end up with -2 .... the DIFFERENCE is the SAME, but yes the angles do change BUT THE KEY IS THAT THE DIFFERENCE REMAINS THE SAME as they both change the same amount with each other whether on the ground or in the air.

That is what I will be doing here in about 1 hour, LOL.

I believe we bought 2 rolls and ended up with about 30 feet of the 2nd roll left...so we used 50+20= 70ft I think.

I'm debating still on the turbo blanket or ceramic coating
