Good question. I would like to know as we'll. I just purchased a TC 76 from forceinductions last week. I should have it on and tuned this week with 14lbs. I'll keep you guys up to date on the results. I'm hoping on 680whp, wish me luck

Cheers,
John

I'm happy to help any time I can. If you can't reach on me on this board you can be sure I'll be checking www.turboneticsownersclub.com if you have any questions I can help you with. There's also all the tech data available from Turbonetics on that page. Part numbers for everything in the Turbonetics catalog, compressor maps, etc.

Could you please answer the infamous question of how do we all confirm we have the MPS wheel?? Is there a way to know from the part number?

People love to ignore this question I wonder if an MPS wheel even exists? If it did we would have a quick answer. Is it a scam for another 100 big ones??? I will wait and find out.

WELL HOLY ****

I'm home from work expecting a few posts but damn, this mother blew up

MIAPLAYA thats all I can say, THANKS FOR CLEARING ALL THAT UP FOR ME. Looks like I do indeed have the wrong turbo, which was ordered from FI.com and what was to be a TC76MPS, I can pull up those posts if needed. I really don't know how Jose spec'd me a 62-1 wheel I'm sure you guys just build what you are told and ARE NOT to be blamed for any of this.

All in all mistakes happen. I'm really hoping I do have a 76mm wheel and the box is mislabeled. We won't know until I get the turbo off the car which I will be doing after I type this out, just felt I had to post first.

I'm glad that FI.com will fix this if it is the wrong wheel.

52172, wickedred thanks for posting the pics, that'll help me a lot when I measure mine out.

Here is my label FWIW:

Going outside right now to pull it off, be back in a hour.....oh yeah are these turbo's in stock...my car cannot be down right now at all.

Damn Jeremy... I can't believe this whole time you've had problems it was cuz you got the wrong turbo! Hopefully FI will get it figured out for you. And bump on the in stock question.

Dammit!!!!!!! The TURBO DELAY GOD has struck again. I'll have to stop working on the car for a few hours due to being called to the construction site

I'll have the results posted today though, it might be a lil later like 5pm We are working on it, but i'm strapped for time right now with new home ****.

RealQuick, I know I know, but the car was tucked away and put on the back burner until we got into the new house which was to be this week, but its looking like it'll be another week if they are having problems this late in the game.

Jeremy
I would think with the low boost issues you are having you would be hoping it ISNT the 76 compressor on the car

If he actually has a HP76 wheel in there that turbo should be looked at anyways. Obviously something is not right if he can only make 9 PSI of boost. He confirmed on the Turbonetics forum that his wastegate was operating properlly along with his bypass/blow off valve. He also said he triple checked for boost leaks. My only suggestion would be to connect a boost gauge at the compressor outlet of the unit and see what the pressure measurement is at that point. If its still only 9 PSI something is wrong with his unit or he has a massive exhaust leak pre-turbo. I guess its possible he has too much backpressure but thats a bit unlikely with the size piping he has. He could always try it open downpipe to be sure... All in all with the label and serial number list showing what it does my money is on the wrong compressor wheel for now.

Well the thrashing is over with, the turbo was torn apart to find out that it is a
76MM TURBO

Sorry for the delay and prolonging this drama. I'm glad to see that the box was mislabled.

And a easy way to check your TC76 to see what it has:

We saw that stamp on the compressor housing *after* we pulled it off the car. Its easily visible with it mounted on the car

But a quick measure with the calipers showed 74.xx and 102.xx

Now where to go from here, I dont know. There was no sign of an exhaust leak at the flanges to the truck manifolds, that would be the major exhaust leak if there was one. The turbo spins freely with no bind at any point.

Thanks Turbonetics/FI.com and all who helped me actually confirm what I have and my bro Eric for freezing his *** off with me tonight in a wet driveway pulling a turbo off my car LOL.

Make another post on how a 76mm turbo ended up in a 62mm box!
