two-step... hahaha

I think that it should be okay... If you're running off of a brake then the lower compression shouldn't hurt you that much and you can just turn the boost up... What upper end are you going with??

I went 9.40@143 with my 8:1 348ci, YSi, 18psi, 3450 raceweight, LS6 intake, and 6.0 ported heads.

I'm running a similar piston in my LS6 block.

8:1 is perfect especially if you are looking to run 15-17#s boost on pump

Is this going to be setup on pump gas with meth or race gas only?

I would try to up the compression. More and more people are running 9+ to 1. If your doing twins I don't think it will be as bad,if your doing a big single I think your going to have a spool problem. Good luck.

You can up the compression any time by milling your heads a little...i think if you mill the 6.0L heads by .012 it will add around .2-.3 compression. Some one can double check this but I think it makes the 72cc chambers a 70cc.

from what i was told it just helps lift the heads when you mill them..

It will be meth and pump gas

then how much less can pump take you.... im actually struggling with the same question now; im either going like 8.1 or 8.8..... theres not to much grey area as im trying to stick with a shelf piston

If you are going to run meth and pump I'd run 8:1, plus you are on a tight budget since you are rebuilding.

im running an 8.8cr motor with Wiseco K444 pistons, according to erik@HKE its a fairly new piston. havent picked the motor up yet, so no experience so far.

I wish my motor was 8.0:1 vs the 8.7:1 it is now... more boost on pump gas. Not that it matters, 15psi on a street car is stupid fast.

Werd. I sorta decided I am just gonna run 14lbs when I get my car back together. Too much drama with high boost and head gasket issues, and I like to drive my car on the street a lot.

i dont think you will have too much of a prob. spooling the t76 with a
370ci 8:1 scr, what cam are u going with? 12-15psi should not be a prob. with
pump.
how much preparation is done to your block?,
gaskets?
my build is similar to yours engine wise, but im going tt
62-1 t4 tnetics, 370ci, part fill block,
6.0 h beams, stock crank, 1.425ch pistons 23cc dish
317 heads

Well mines a little different cause the motor is old school, but I have 8.3:1 and the first time I went down the street i barely touched the gas and between 2200 to 2500 rpm it was already hitting 10 psi!! Of course I quickly let off!! Wish I could tell you more but I just fired off the new Gen 7 last night!! But from what ive been told and kinda experienced the low compression is going to be a big plus!!!

My rearmounted T76 R trim turbine .81 a/r turbo spools fast. I can see 20psi in 1st gear but can't see anything behind the car due to tire smoke. Last night on a short cruise I turned down the boost from 18 to 15psi because it was too much power for the street. The temp finally dropped to around 93F when it got dark and the car picked up huge amounts of power and was spooling way faster because of the cool weather. It traps 132MPH on 15psi in 100+ summer weather and weighs 3850lbs with me in it.

This is a rear mounted setup at one of the slowest tracks in the USA... I don't think you need to worry about performance on your setup mr_president lol

If your sticking to pump gas and the street then stick with it....
If its more of a race set-up id go higher.....
The bump in compression really helps out....
My new motor is going from 8.87:1 to 9.5:1 , but ill be on race gas all the time so im not worried about pump gas.

kyle i'm assuming your last setup only saw race gas? my bottom end will be much like your last one if i go with the 15cc pistons, only i dont have as much turbo, probably 750-800w max and is just a street warrior. i just have this problem with a lead foot
