Uhhh BS...plain and simple. Who ever told you that is highly mis-informed. Our S88 will spank a S488 that uses the old 7 blade comp wheel, and hell it won't make 1600hp.

Bwtween the 2 you just mentioned....the GT4788 would be a better match if you plan to ever put it on the street.

well drturbo this is the deal. I am gonna drive it on the street. Cruzing that is. meaning im not concerned about how fast it boost up on the street. Im not trying to get a ticket. as far as the track i want to run mid to low 8's if possible. I will have a trans brake. I see you have turbos as well. the two i have asked about i can get for like 1500. If i have to spend a few more hundred to get even a better turbo i really dont mind so what do you have or suggest? thanks

If that is the type of setup your are building then yes you definitely want something in the S88, S91 or GT47 range. Give us a call or shoot me a PM, I will see what I can do for you.

That is wrong info.....plus they don't make an 88 for a 4XX series unit. Even the higher series unit which is based on a 5XX platform will barely support that. Also that turbine wheel will not support it. Lots of hype out there on units. Call Jose (jz 97 ss 1500) and talk to him he can direct you on what you need for that type of power.

granted my setup isn't optimal, just a low comp. street motor with a .96 a/r housing; but at 22psi it was making 725's at the tires through an unlocked converter and notoriously stingy MD1750.

Do the S91 and let me know how it turns out so I can finally make up my mind on changing turbos.

We went 5.82@119 with a stock LQ4 bottom end with (outta the box) L92 heads with a GT47-88 at 3265lbs. Thats just a hair over 9.0s in 1/4. Thats on the 10lb wastegate spring. That said, I do think that the PT91 is a better choice for a more of a "race car" setup like you are talking because the exhaust wheel is bigger.

Try the 98mm Hell I wanted to go 106, but I didn't have the budget to outfit the car for it.
