Yeah, once I found out the remote was actually cheaper it wasn't a hard desicion lol. It's going to make my life a lot easier finding a tensioner to fit in there. Now I can use the procharger one thats like a 4" pulley and will fit a 60mm belt in there.

Let me start out by saying, the guys over at Finish Line Transmissions have THE BEST customer service that I've delt with. They are very easy going and want to go over every detail with you. That's really important to me. You can tell Chuck really puts a lot of pride in the transmissions that come out of his shop. I wish I didn't have to hurry out of there to get back to work because I could tell he didn't mind going over stuff and really letting me know what I was paying for. Anyway, Thanks guys!
Here's tomorrows project

And then here's what I got done last night:

Should be able to get the tranny mounted up tomorrow so hopefully Sunday I can start the final F2 mounting/set-up

Word of advise, use the outer 4 bolts only on that Th400, it will make life a TON easier to get in and out. And please, PLEASE get the CSR th400 carbon shiled. It's a pita to deal with, but god forbid the drum ever explode it will keep your legs attached.

It was on a bolt hole, didn't realize I don't need to use that hole until after I removed it not that it matters.

Why is it hard to use the other two bolts? 4 doesn't seem like much to hold it on?

Great, how much do one of those go for? I like my legs! Why doesn't any one make a protection sheet that can just be bolted in on the interior under the carpet, seems like it would be much easier to install and you never have to touch it again.

Summit sells the shield, I don't remamber what they go for, but trust me, if this delay's the project for even a month becuase of $< you're way better off for it god forbid the thing ever blow up.

Trust me, when you have the shield on top of the tranny, getting to the 2 top bolts will be almost impossible. I don't know what my car makes for HP on the jug (never dyno'ed it on the bottle) but I can tell you I've had 4 bolts in since the car went together, and I haven't had a single problem. If you can get to the top one go for it, but with a motor plate the engine won't "sag" down enough in the back to let you get to the top bolt for ****.

The shield or a blanket is a dam good idea. FYI, LS1 uses 5 bolts, LSX can use 6.

Got the tranny installed yesterday so I was able to start designing the bracket again. It shifted the bracket up a little, I actually had the rear of the engine jacked up just a touch too much. Now that it's sitting exactly where it will be, I was able to start getting a little closer to a finished product. I added some 1" rigid pipe and a bracket that bolts to all 4 bolt holes on the passenger head and rests on the block. This thing is solid now! Even with out mounting the brackets and motor plates to the frame, they are just wedged in, I can grab one of those bars and shake the whole car with out it budging. Now I'm in the process of mounting the plates and bracket to the frame. Should be ready to start making the 1/2" aluminum bracket sometime this week.

I also moved the bracket about a 1/2" forward after I took those pics. So now I have enough room for about a 70mm belt. I'm going to call procharger this week and get the cog tensioner pulley they have, should fit perfect right where the water pump was.

I winder if you could get the pulley closer to the block too, either via machining it down a little or another pulley. I know it would make the alt mount a little different, or you'd just have to use a 4 rib blet for the alt (which works fine I have been doing it all year)

If you could, then you might be able to use a full width belt, which would be ideal

Actually, after moving the bracket forward, I'm only losing the thickness of the bracket, which is 1/2". So I can go as wide as a 3" belt. I don't think it would be worth the trouble trying to find a way to get that extra 1/2". It would be nice to get the pulley closer to the block though. I don't really like how every thing is so far off the block, I think that's why a lot or the set-ups out there arn't reverse rotation blowers, that way the blower mounts nice and close to the block. My blower will sit a good 10"s off the block but that's why I made the bracket to mount to the frame so it's not just hanging out there. This pic gives you a good idea how far off the blower is, looks kind of funny from the side but at least it looks cool from the front lol.

Actually that pic is before I moved it up more so it sits another 1/2" farther.

why not use a corvette damper?? they sit closer to the block ( about an inch or more).
you will have to do something to the alternator to make it line up if you do use the vette damper.

I thought about the vett damper originally but it uses a smaller belt than what I have room for now and I would have to find another way to mount the alternator and get another cog pulley for it, too many changes this late in the game. The water pump change was enough for me, the rest is staying as planned. If I have problems with the way it's set-up now once it's running, then I'll have to modify it as needed.

Got a lot done on the brackets today. I should be able to do a mock up of everything put together this weekend and get an idea what it will look like when it's done. Here's where I'm at:

Oh yeah, I can always polish it up for the bling factor later to help the looks out but it sucks I had to add like 50lbs. I think the strength is more important though, I don't want **** breaking and everyone who has used this F2 has told me it's a beast. The estimates on power have me not too worried about weight anymore. I originally was only shooting for maybe 900rwhp with the D1 but now with this F2 I'm thinking the extra power should make up some added weight. Plus I don't do any real racing like most of the guys in this power range, it's just a test and tune car for fun and some street use.
I'd love to get to 3200 but I don't understand how guys get to 3000 other than hacking every last peice of anything. I still want the interior to look fairly nice. Last time I weighed it, it was at 3700 with me in it and I've taken out about 200lbs more and added maybe 150lbs with the block & bracket. If I can get it to around 3600 race weight and still look good, I'll be happy. I'll get it scaled once I'm finished.
