APS TT Tubing Problems
Every company is going to have problems with some of their products, I think that is expected. However I think its how they deal with it and how they deal with their customers that's important.
So the original kit was advertised to support 1000hp? But the intake pipes suck shut?
So someone who has just dropped 6 grand on this kit has to spend more money just so the kit can do what the manufacturer said it could do in the first place?
That's like buying a car that Chevy says gets 30mpg, then when it only gets 20 mpg, Chevy says well.....buy cold air kit and you can get the 30 that we said it would get in the first place.

It appears now this issue has your attention after so many complaints. GREAT thats progress can we sort the intake ducts while were at it since thats the other issue thats making people nuts. Do these the new improved intake ducts exist for the standard kit, and has anybody received them and do they actually fix the issue?
**** i wish this thread was up when i sold my incon, i could ve sold it for a lot more, damn it!!

) But, we should NOT have to pay for something the kit was ADVERTISED TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the hell??????? This kit was advertised at 1000 brake horsepower. PART of the kit is keeping the rest of the kit from doing so... so correct it!And I agree 100%. I was also thinking that an APS sponser should be sent all of the upgraded ducts- you could ship 30 for about $500-600, and that would only break down to $20 a set plus another $15 or so from the sponser to your door. Thats $33 instead of $100. (On a side note, I think APS should eat ALL of the cost of these upgrades that allow the kit to do what is was suppossed to do anyway... but I think $100 shipped to my door would be better than nothing.) Why don't you send everyone of us a package deal where we get swaybar spacers and these ducts for $125 shipped?

LMAO! IF APS is going to be stupid about fixing their mistakes I think its time to consider some US made alternatives or a way to stent these things open. Anybody know who makes hoses in the US? Should be straight forward enough to mold one of the original ones and reproduce it.

No, these things are expensive. I paid $90 for a 4" to 3" 90* about a year to go and there was nothing to it. I think my buddy said cost on it was about $70. It's possible that they could indeed be costing APS $190 given all of the intricate bends, but on the other hand it might not. I would hope to God that APS isn't marking these things up to actually turn a profit. That would be the most fucked up thing I've ever seen a company do. Jim says he was quoted way less than that when he talked to Peter about them months ago but Peter may of just been speculating how much they COULD cost without having a final production price. The world may never know....
Metal ducts made from a mold would be the best thing but I don't know if you could actually get them in place. I think I recall having to flex them into place.
I'm just going to make some sort of stint. I would much rather have APS' engineers work something up but I'm 100% it will work. I just don't want my homemade version being sucked into the turbo given all of the pressure that will be on it. Worst case scenario, I'll never get to use all the power on the street. I'll have to remove the filters for the track to see what it can really do. I'm SUPER curious as to how APS made over 800rwhp (was it?) with the original pieces. I'm guessing they pulled the filters off too.
That's exactly what APS is doing here making an *** out of U and ME while laughing all the way to the bank.
You and me both brother.

Ati have had head unit problems and other issues, powerdyne, paxton, turbonetics..
That said there is pretty much three issues with aps. Some guys have had bad turbos and think aps has replaced them at no charge ??
The turbo inlets suck shut at higher boost levels .Its annoying for sure
Here is what they say in their advertising on the setup:
"High engine performance also demands a huge mass flow rate of cool air. With twin cold air intakes, one for each turbocharger, the APS Intercooled Twin Turbo system delivers the goods. With a total cold air capacity that far exceeds the demands of the base APS Twin Turbo system, there's plenty of air flow in reserve for those who wish to build larger capacity engines (400 ci plus engines)."
Someohow their test mule put out near 20psi or 20psi with those tubes but many have reported the problem. I would minimum like to see these tubes be 200 with free shipping. Best case would be they would be supplied no charge for as said Public Relations.
I also think a person could stint the tubes.Or APS could supply stints to install but if the better inlets are actually avaialble then it comes down to what a person wants to do.I likely would just get the damn inlets and pay the money. I wouldn't be that happy that had to pay for them and it might influence my decision to get an aps kit on planned future vette. After sales support and service is very very important. Especially to repeat business.
I still think the sway bar hitting can be fixed with spacers and or cutting the tubes and installing silicone couplers.
No kit I have seen is 100% plug and play. Seems you have to still mess with various things. You have to maybe upgrade cooling. You have to install upgraded fuel system .You have to do tuning. You have to maybe build up the engine, trans, clutch, rear end.
In the big picture these problems are annoyances not the end of the world.
So lets see pics of these revised ducts.lets see someone try them out.
Regardless of what they do to fix it I hope they explain themselves about how they got such big numbers on the original kit.
If the kit doesn't make the power they say then it should be changed on their website and advertisements.
If they can't afford to give the replacement parts away for free then they just can't and won't.
I am new to FI but it seems this kit, especially for turbos, this kit has the least amount of problems and you get to keep your A/C and do not have the under hood temps. Some people have overheating problems but I think a LT1 radiator would help that but don't know since I don't have one of these kits.
For everything the kit comes with I think the price is reasonable. Procharger and a maggie style blower come with a lot less parts and cost nearly the same.
I will be interested to see what APS has to say. I think we should give them some time to reply. I just hope its a good one.
That being said, the proper thing to do is to send these out at cost to current customers. $290 does not sound like at cost to me.
I'm not unhappy that I bought this kit from them, but it seems more and more like APS embellishes their information a little to help with sales. The problems we've had aren't deal-breakers, cause, as stated above, no kit is "plug and play". I don't like that their answer has been that pretty much every system has been installed incorrectly. I went through great pains to install mine EXACTLY the way APS's instructions stated. I didn't spend a week on it, I spent months. I installed it correctly, as I'm sure that everyone else on this forum has. What's more, the dents in my charge pipes are larger than the increased diameter of my hotchkis sways, which means that they would have hit anyway.
I'm not so upset with the kit, as I am the attitude that APS seems to have about the problems. I may buy their kit for my C6 (when I get it), but I'll definately be shopping first, now.
