how much horsepower will OUR stock fuel lines handle
considering they are only 3/8ths which is a -6 line. But many people say that have used a stock line and supported over 800hp but I have no idea if its true!
what ya think?

My 2010 camaro is using -6 lines and it makes 825rwhp. I'm going to shoot for the moon in a bit with a smaller blower pulley, custom cam, and meth and I don't intend to change my fuel system at all. I am also using the factory feed line connected to -6 lines for feeding and using -6 for a return line. No signs of starvation. In fact, the factory feed line has a bigger ID than a -6 line. I cannot remember the exact ID but it is a little bigger.
It is more about pressure than volume if that makes sense. Lonnie from Lonnie's performance has posted about this before but I can't find the thread at the moment.

Not doubting that, but I also have personal experience with cars that were dropping pressure in the 1000rwhp range that was cured by using a larger line. It all depends on the combination of the engine & driveline losses to achieve that power.
Net result is, if you are doing it on the cheap, try it & see what you can get away with.
If you want to do it right the first time & be sure it works, use a -8.
I can guarantee a -8 is enough, but I cannot guarantee a -6 is.
Also do not confuse a factory line with a -6, they are not the same even though the size is similar.
An uninterrupted section of -6 will flow much better.

We have also ween over 800rwhp on stock 3rd gen fuel lines on the dyno, and turned it up to what should have been well over 900rwhp on the stock lines, all on e85.
I realy think on gas the stock lines will support A LOT of power, people change them out way before they need to do so.

I'm assuming at these power levels you are using the stock feed line then the evap line as a return?
If so how do you plumb this, as there is no return port on the stock fuel rails. Also how do you dump it back into the tank? Is there a port to return the fule back into the tank? been awhile since i looked at one.

I still have the stock feed line, but a -6 return, and -8 feed off the stock feed line to and from the regulator. I'd think this would handle around 700rw before I start having problems with leaks with dual pumps.
