Default Braided fuel lines and AN fittings

i was thinking of running some braided fuel lines i really like the look in the engine bay and was wondering where you guys are picking them up from and what size. i have seen members naming all kinds of different prices so if you could tell me around what to expect i would appreciate it. I dont believe that they should be to hard to run. i have a 2000 camaro with stock fuel rails. Im trying to run only to the hardline from the fuel rails. I wanna do the evap line also. I just need to know what an fittings to do all three lines with. And how much braided line also.

Jegs has in house braided line. Try looking on there. Price really just depends on the size and how many feet of it you get

Please don't cheap out on fuel lines. Go with Earl's, Russel or Aeroquip.

Unless this turns you on.

bayer-z28 is correct, Don't cheap out on fuel lines.
Use the PTFE lines.
Use this fitting for the push lock fittings.

IMHO I only use russel, used the cheap summit stuff and others before and always had issues
Now I spend the money and ONLY use Russel pro-classic 2 hose and crimped hose ends. The nylon fabric line is 1/3 the weight and looks 10x better, that with teh black and aluminum fittings, blue/red, is the ugliest **** ever

I don't recommend those. I've had several blow off, they are general ***** of things. Check out the new screw-on 2 piece ones instead.

the tech AFX stuff is basically the same hose with a cover on it.

This is what I use
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-632095/overview/

But if you buy from race-mart like I do its $48 cheaper for a 20ft roll

http://www.race-mart.com/Russell-RUS-632095.html

You must use the matching russel pro-classic fittings as well but it is the best way to go IMHO

More than likely, the Summitt brand PTFE hose, and fittings are Chinese made stuff. There's a HUGE difference in id between the cheap PTFE hose (Chinese), and the Tech Afx, and Goodridge stuff for the same size fitting. The cheaper hose in -8 is around 3/8" id, and the better stuff (more expensive) is closer to 1/2" id, both -8. Go figure. Goodridge, and the Earl's Pro Lite hose is top of the line, easy to use hose. The Tech Afx is next, very easy to use, and pretty affordable. All the other ones, in the PTFE lined hose, is, in my opinion, not worth using. Extremely stiff hose, smaller id, and cheaper fittings. Not trying to bash anybody's product, just stating what I have found after buying samples of all of them.

The black PTFE is carbon impregnated which makes it conductive so it prevents static discharge. The white PTFE hose is not conductive and static can jump from the inside of the hose to the steel braid and cause small pinholes which obviously would be a very big problem.

I was under the impression that if you didn't want a fuel smell odor you should run a PTFE lined hose. Need to run all new fuel lines and I'd hate to spend all this money and have the car smell like fuel when parked. Do you have a fuel odor with the line your running?

Ive never had a fuel odor from ANY rubber based hose, nearly all the instances I have witnessed of fuel odor was from the fittings. That is the main reason I use the crimped fittings as they are nearly guranteed not to leak. The other reason is improper grounding in the vehicle as stated above causing static buildup which will make pinholes in the hose. put a nice ground on your fuel pump/tank and it will solve that problem.

I've used the aeroquip push lock hose. I don't have any gas smell but getting the fitting on can be a PIA. I noticed some came with tiny burs on the barb and it would rip the hose. So think I will try PTFE. Keep that in mind if you use the push lock style.

Been using it for years without a single incident. See no reason not to continue

Post proof of the smaller ID or stop posting this garbage
