Default 1500hp fuel system sugestions?

here is what i am planing. anything wrong with this plan?

aluminum 20gal fuel cell sumped, foamed and sensor. duel -10 out's
twin staged bosh 420l/hr pumps from speedinc.
-10's to feed pumps. -8's out y'd into one -10 feed line up to engine compartment
single -10 y'd back into twin -8's to feed the rails in parallel
-6's off the other end of the rails to one -8. that -8 to reg and back to tank with a -8

is that bosh pump really loud? is it reliable? is there an easier way to make a fuel system for 1500hp? is there a cheaper way?

right now i am running the twin intank racetronics set up with a voltage booster all the way up AND lots of meth and i am still running out of fuel. it is time to do it right. my turbo set up is good for 1500hp and with the new blocks coming out who knows i might just get to that point some day.

i was just looking at the weldon pumps. for about the same price as the twin bosh pumps i could get one weldon pump good for about 1500hp. anyone know if this would be a better choice for a pump. it might flow too much at idle and i cant stage it like i can the twin bosh pumps.

i dont think that will be enough fuel. the 600a is rated at 58gal/hr at 70psi. 58x2x6=696lb/hr/.55=1265hp.

anyone have a flowchart on the bosh pump?

How about the MagnaFuel 4303 fuel pump. That one seems to be rated at about 2000hp. Doesnt seem to be too loud from what I have read in these forums. Thats the one I went with and builder is currently installing it. I actually went with Nate's Complete Stage 2 Race/Street kit-up to 2000hp (1400+rwhp) http://www.nastyperformance.com/FuelSystems.html

You could actually get away with using the MagnaFuel 4302 which is rated to 1500hp but if you plan on running that at the wheels, the 4303 would be your only choice.

My goals are similar to yours.

My setup

Sumped Fuel Cell
-12 - prefilter - Weldon 2025 pump - postfilter - -10 feed - Yblock - 2x -8 - rails - 2x -8 to regulator - -8 return

I prefer to limit the variables where something can go wrong. Hence I will be running one pump.

I have a 4303 magnafuel and I doubt it will do 1500fwhp at 60psi, -8 in and out to start. Since they dont give you any flow/PSI data who really knows.

If you are going to be doing a lot of street driving the dual 420s should work out very well. But asking about fuel pumps is the same as asking about cams, blower vs turbo etc, only way to find out is see what people are using that are making that kind of power.

Your right KP I have been looking around trying to find true flow data on the MagnaFuel 4303 but cant find any true data. I have looked around and some sites claim 1500+hp, some 2000+hp. I guess it more depends on everything else. KP, how much rwhp and psi do you plan on running with the pump? On this thread, https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...7&page=3&pp=20
koji777 is running a 408ci F1 @ 15lbs pushing 1000rwhp and has good street ability so thats pretty impressive for me.

RWHP means nothing in the fuel system world. Engine HP is the only thing that really matters, so many different driveline combos and dyno correction factors (if you dyno on a hot day 1000rwhp may be only 850 uncorrected horsepower) so using rwhp to determine fuel system capacity is a guess at best.

it also depends on the pressure its run at and ay what voltage, at 40 psi it will move a lot more fuel. The 4303 may be good for 1500fwhp @ 70psi, cant say for sure. I am probably around 850fwhp or so and its working fine @ 60psi with 75lb injectors at 90% or so duty cycle. I plan on running it until I start seeing the FP drop on a pass, havent got to that point yet. Its a good pump has caused me zero headaches, but I just cant be sure its good for 1500hp power levels and just because I have one doesnt mean its the best

www.kinsler.com has the flow data at different pressures for the 044 Bosch. I'm running twin intank 044's and they are very quiet. You can hear them whine with the engine off, but once running you can not hear them....but they are in the tank under gasoline. I came off each pump with -8 then y'd to a single -8 down line because I only wanted to support a max of 1100 engine hp.

I'd do it differently for 1500hp. I would eliminate two y's. Run a dedicated -8 line from each pump to the back of each fuel rail, then run a -8 line from the front of each rail to the regulator, then a single -8 return line will be plenty since you're going to run high FP anyway. Bosch quality is second to none. Just check the flow rates to make sure they will do what you need.

They provide it.The 4303 at
60psi flows 2.3 gallons per min.
65psi flows 2.2 gpm
70psi 2.1 gpm
75psi 2.0 gpm

The MagnaFuel has been a great product with zero issues so far. The 4303 is a great street pump and should get you to 1500 hp.

That's more than two 044's will flow. 70psi = 2.1gpm = 820lb/hr fuel flow for the single Magnafuel.

Two 044 Bosch pumps will flow 780lb/hr at 70psi.

http://kinsler.com/Cat_31_Whole_PDF/0201234_screen.pdf

#10211 = 044 Bosch

#10271 = Walbro

Look how the Walbro nose dives at high pressure.

Thanks KP, Nasty N8, and onfire, this is what I love about LS1Tech so much, helps people make smart decisions off of other people results and knowledge, better than going blind. That means I dont have to be the smartest, just know how to get the right info from the geniuses and run with it.

You could but why would you? The potential of one crapping out and not knowing fuel pressure spikes or loss from them fighting one another...

the 2.1gpm flow rate at 70psi on the 4303 would calculate to about 1374fwhp

the 2025 is rated at 145gal/ht at 70psi and thats around 1581fwhp, on the kinsler site it is good for a little more.

i cant find the flow chart for the bosh420 pump on that site. can anyone hook me up on that?

Ya but you are comparing a street pump to an all out race pump. MagnaFuel has race pumps as well. I have also setup a system with 2 of MagnaFuels 4301's for big power on a "street car" cough.

k, i see the chart for the bosh420's. a pair might not do it for me.

what is the weight of gas? i was just using 6lb/gal but it must be a little more?
