Default Car dies out at WOT?!?

Well my car i basically stock no big upgrades, never had problems, untill last week when it the eng. started cuting off. This is what happens, let say im going about 20mph then i stomp on the gas, so it down shift to first(auto trans) as it starts taking off all of a sudden the engine cuts off its almost like if it chokes so then i have to pull over and restart the engine , but if im stopped and then give it wot nothing happens, this only happens when the car downshifts hard from low rpms to high rpms. Please anyone who has had this prob. or any1 who has some pointers help.

Thats was how mine acted when the fuel pump was on the way out. Is the fuel pump any louder than normal.

I would put a fuel pressure gauge on it and check the fuel pressure. I use a temporary one that mounts straight to my fuel rail. You should have a similar setup on your LS1.

Thanks for the info, yea the fuel pump does make a different noise now, i noticed it a couple of days ago. I just changed my fuel filter about 4 months ago, so i dont think it the filter, but ill change both to be on the safe side. Thanks again.
