Ryan K, perhaps it is the angle of the picture, but is your belt alignment correct?

The balancer is a powermaster SFI unit IIRC. I made the mandrel for it myself on a lathe, it's bolted to the balancer with three bolts and is indexed with the balancer. the bracket I made... the pump I bought!

And its just the picture it's all aligned good.

i got all my parts today. the damper # i got is ati-917243, and the fuel pump kit i got is Aeromotive 17241 .

the only thing to do now is find a truck accy a/c bracket and mill the drive mandrel rear snout down to fit inside the ati balancer. all the bolt holes line up perfectly.

this is the snout that has to be smaller diameter to fit into the balancer

if you look in the second and fifth picture youll see a countersink in the spacer that goes between the mandrel and the balancer. this recess allows the mandrel and the spacer to be concentric to the balancer. all three pieces are indexed to each other per my dads machinist. he is very well know around here and i trust that he did it right. all of this was told to me by him so its just what im going off of.

also, in the last photo you can see the indexing mark he made on the balancer if you hit ctrl and + a couple of times its on the top above the mandrel

cool stuff. i see how he indexed the mandrel to the spacer but i dont see how he indexed the spacer to the balancer. probalby the way he drilled the holes in the spacer.

cool stuff. i had him take mine all the way to the inside edge of the balancer(he machined it true) but the spacer is heavier than it should be.

i can make some measurements next time im home but i dont think i would want to do any production and try to sell them... too much of a headache. this could be machined for relatively cheap at any machine shop though....

the reason behind the way i had it done was i couldnt see spending that much money on a balancer when the stock GM unit will hold up just fine and do exactly what i needed.
