I would get the Racetronix kit personally. It comes with a hot-wire kit to handle the extra Amp load.

When my Walbro burned out, I installed the Racetronix kit. IMHO, there is no comparison. First, the Walbro included in the Racetronix kit is specially modified for our cars. Second, the wiring harness is top notch, and IMO of military quality. It provides maximum power to the pump, even under a full load. Once you see it, you will understand.

I purchased and installed the Racetronix kit. I was quite impressed with it. I wouldn't say it is of military quality...it was quite the opposite...very high quality. Not like the lowest bidder but highest price stuff I work with daily.

This might be a dumb question but is there a major difference between the Racetronix kit and the Walbro 225/Casper hotwire kit?

On the price difference alone, I would be inclined to buy the Walbro and use a wider gauge of wire. I, also, can understand why some here would prefer the simplicity of the ready-made Racetronix, though.

not for a 98, but for 99-up the racetronics has the venturi feed to keep the bucket system working properly

racetronix uses a walbro 255 pump...they put their aluminum cover over it. They just supply the hot wire kit. I run a walbro 255 with a hot wire kit, and have never had any problems with it.

To compare a walbro 255 and a "racetronix" pump...is like compairing a trans am to a z28
They both have the same internals.

What is there to "monkey" with...???

You drop the tank...install the pump...then install your hot wire kit. You do the same instation process weather you got the racetronix or the walbro.

Ive done both and there is no difference.....performance wise or installation wise. You just have to ask yourself....do I want to pay an extra $ 120.00 for a aluminum cover with "racetronix" engraved on the side, the pump is a walbro. I have $139.00 in my walbro 255 and a hot wire kit. The same set up from racetronix is $259. Just my .02

I bought mine through new era performance when they had them on sale. That was last year though. Their all the same though...weather you buy it from summit, any one of the sponsors on here, or from ebay. Most all of the sponsors on here will price match, so find it cheap and go with whoever you want.
