Quick Performance 9" Housing

Bare Housing with T/A Bracket = 75 lbs
Moser 31 spline Axles with Bearings = 18/19 = 37 lbs

Strange 'S' Case, Nodular Iron
Aluminum Daytona Pinion Support
Detroit Locker (Large Bearing, 3.25")
3.89 Gears
Billet Steel 1350 Yoke
Assembled Center Section w/Bearings Total = 71 lbs

These weights did not include the backing plates, calipers, disks etc...

Well guys, I think I am going to change my mind and forgo the QP in lieu of the MWC. I talked to Eric and what we discussed to be the best course of action is that I hold off on getting a built center, since my LS1 is stock, and just pickup a clean "junkyard" center. I then will just buy the Fab9 housing package with 31 or 35 spline axles, and if need be get a spool and new basic gears. The housing setup would be $1600 with no center plus the spool and gears if needed; then if I want a back-brace to be welded then that would be extra. Then of course the $ of the center.

Right now that is the new plan, but as always things can change.

Regardless, I wish the best for you guys with the QP

True that man! But I don't have to luxury of having a "REAL" job at the moment since I do about 16 to 18 crd/hrs each semester. I guess you can say that I am a Full-Time-and-a-Half student, lol. I hve not found one place that has ever been willing to work with my fucked-up school schedule.

Not sure if I'm reading this right but where did you guys get these for $875 shipped? I talked to QP and they said they have never sold these this cheap.

Didn't see this until just now.

I've gone 11.03 @ 125 like Brandon said in an ealier post. Spent most of last fall trying to sort out the suspension/chassis. Didn't have quite enough tire and the car drastically needs some good shocks on the back. This coming summer I'd like to hit some mid/high 10's on the motor, maybe some low 10's on the spray. I don't get in this section much anymore so if you have any questions feel free to pm me. I made my own LCA brackets (along with a Spohn bracket) with many different hole adjustments on the housing.

I bought mine from Brydon at Quick Performance, not sure if he's still with them or not and yes, I got the housing/axles for 875.00. I can't remember if that was the shipped price or not, but again that was almost a year ago and I've been told their prices went up soon after I bought mine.

From my experience, I would piece mine together. 90% of you guys deciding to get a 9" should already have new lower control arms and if you know anything about racing youd look into an adjustable torque arm with the transmission relocation mount. Go ahead and hook hard with some drag radials or slicks with your new setup, I dare you to do a 4500 rpm launch and straight out dump it. Cant wait to see that tailshaft housing sitting on the ground. i dont see why youd budget a setup if you actually have a car fast enough to need a 9". any car with more than 385 could use one if you are gonna bee seeing any exxtended strip time in the future. My set-up cost 2300 with EVERYTHING but I did a lot myself. Good luck but id buy a complete package from someone if you cant do it all yourself. i saved 700.
