Default Anyone REGRET going from 2.73 to 3.42?

I'm looking to swap out my 2.73's in my A4 for 3.42's.

Seems like this is a good compromise for a DD that sees highway use.

I've seen alot of threads where people are all for this swap, but is there anyone that has done it that has regretted it?

Sounds like a stupid qustion, but I like getting both sides of the story.

Any opinions are welcome.

Thanks!

I did it and loved it. But I got a good deal on the whole rearend too. I eventually got a 12 bolt with 3:73's though.

The only real difference is you'll run out of gear at 132 if you don't get it recalibrated.

That's what I plan on doing, just swapping the rear for one from a M6 car. I figure that's the easiest and cheapest way to do it.

I also plan on having it tuned afterward, I've been told that not only will it throw off the speedo, it will also throw off all the shift points.

I do but my reason is completely different, ******* A4 decided to blow up at the track so i switched to an M6 and now its basically like having 2.73s again.

No regrets here, its a daily driver and the switch from 2.73's to 3.42's netted 4 tenths in the 1/4, tuned of course
