Default Two piece driveshaft?

Anyone running a two-piece drive shaft with serious hp and RPM???

We are running about 725hp N/A at Bonneville (and over 900hp on spray) and will turn 9,000rpm+...

I have heard that Inland Empire Driveline is the "only" choice for this app.... and am hoping to find someone running one successfully??? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Kix

Why are you wanting a two piece DS?

I've got one in my rompin' stompin' 95 S-10 4 banger (19.16 @ 69mph). But I guess you're looking for a bit more severe service, eh?

More pieces = more places to break especially at that much power/rpm. But to answer your question, nope.

lol... yah, we have an S10 (well, a Sonoma) but it has just a little bit more power than the factory 4 popper. Unfortunatley, when you have an extended cab Sonoma, the drive shaft is too long for even a carbon fiber pro mod shaft to work.... so.... 2 piece it is ;-(

Have you thought of looking at something out of a big truck? Heavy as hell, but stout to boot. Shouldn't be too much trouble getting the right u-joint flanges put on. By big, I mean something like a late model 1 ton diesel p/u. They already have to deal with >500 ft. lb. torque.

The reason for the 2 piece is to keep driveshaft whip to a minimum at high speeds.Mostly used for shafts over 60" long.

We run one in our Turbo 1500 truck.Rated at 1500hp and to 250mph or so.Got it from Denny's driveshaft.

What kind of pillow block did they set you up with? What kind of RPMs are you running? Carbon or Aluminum? Hate to ask about the cost?
