Question Question about 373 gears I want to put in the camaro

Alright so a few things real quick. The bearings are starting to go out in the rear end so I need to replace them but I was thinking about doing 373 gears and well...

Do I need to buy anything else other than the gears for the install? and should I just get stock bearings and stuff or does that even matter? what is all needed for the install is basically what im trying to say lol Thanks for your help in advance.

I have an automatic 98 Z28

your auto 98 Z28,you need to find out what gear ratio you have now, that'll tell you what series carrier you have so you can acquire the proper gearset.

You may want to look into buying a girdle, they add a little strength....but I wanted mine for the drain and fill plugs they have.

IF you know that the gears have not ben changed look at the gear code on the car sticker( the sticker will tell you if it came with a 2 or 3 serises carrier)you may pull the rear cover off and measure the thickness of the ring allso.
you will need a shim kit and crush sleeve also to set up the new gears, dial indacator and thork wrench and a lot of luck if you do not know how to set up the gears, but ever one has to start some where.it is better if you have help from some one who has "been there- done that "

alright it is a GU5.... So I have 3.23s in there... Would I be able to get an entire rear diff off a truck GT4 that has 3.73 gears in it and just gut it and put the parts in my housing?
