Default First drive with S60...

Went well. Took it easy rowing thru the gears, shifting at 2500-3000. Rear is quiet especially compared to my 10 bolt. I can now hear the exhaust bumping against something... no marks on driveshaft or anything like that. Plus I installed new trans crossmember and moved the torque arm off of the tail shaft. Also installed new poly trans mount which does transmit more vibes into car BUT my old stock rubber mount was so deteriorated I could smash it between my finger and thumb. Way too much give. Now, shifting is firm and precise. Only issue I have is with these Russell speed bleeders which decided to continue bleeding my whole ten mile trip. Thankfully I didn't go futher. That will be a matter for another thread.
All in all, this thread is about the S60 but not much to say really. She does her job... just as I expected. Can't wait to get more miles on her.
Also I need to adjust my torque arm mount up one notch because of a -4 degree angle. Anyone know how many degrees one notch up will reduce that on a UMI mount?

Will be good to get some more feedback on the S60. I have been trying to find guys who run them in F-bodies and I haven't found much.

Many threads on this site about guys using the S60... always good reviews... that's what swayed me. Do a search.

I installed mine same as you earlier this month. Awesome rearend! I dont see where people say all of this noise comes from. I broke mine into per the instructions to the T, had a little howling on decel during break-in, but not anymore. Mine is dead quiet and rock solid. 4.10's are awesome!

Due to weather I haven't had her out in awhile since I began break-in... I think I have only about 80 miles total on the rear. And just got about 30" of snow in last 24 hours so it'll be a long time before the rubber hits the road.

Talked to Carl today to line out the details I needed. I know what rear end now and where it will be coming from. Just need to save a few more bucks up and order that Bad Boy! Thanks for all the information Carl!

Welcome to the club guys, I think you'll love this rear it's badass and you won't have to worry about it breaking either. I have one in my car and I'm upgrading to a Detroit Locker and 4.30's from the tru trac and 3.73's since I plan to do more drag racing with my car now.

Update... finally got her out after the cold winter. Have about 150 miles on her total and she's actually quieted down more... I should have 500 miles on the rear end by next weekend and I'll pull the cover and check out the gears and change the fluid as recommended by Strange. I've been taking it easy driving her... mostly 40 to 55 mph. Got on the highway and had her up to 75-80 for awhile. Did a somewhat mild launch also... nothing dramatic. Just lifted the clutch and stabbed the throttle for about 2 seconds. Gave me freakin' whiplash...

I got mine put in a couple weekends ago. No complaints at all. I ended up shortening my driveshaft exactly 2" coming from a Moser 12 bolt. It's way quieter than the 12 bolt too. The only odd thing is Strange won't send them with the powder coated "S" cover anymore. Had to buy it afterwards which cost a little more.

An FYI... a very big FYI... I asked Strange about the Lucas oil they give during initial break in... they said any good dif oil would work... and that's good because I do NOT like Lucas oil whatsoever.... never EVER heard of one good analysis from Lucas. Nuff said.
