Default Dana 60 and gas tank clearence

i just installed my dana 60s in my 2002 camaro, went in no problem, easy installe, only issue i have is the cover of the dana (stock metal cover) is hitting my gas tank when to car bounce down, it hits the ribs of the tank , the car is lowered 1 1/2", even before the stopers hit the housing. has anyone had this probleme?

I am only lowered with the hose mod and cut rear springs and I have never ran into this issue, but I have heard of others that have.

I have the alum cover, and there a lot of room? I took the bumpstops off they were hitting. So it tucks lower then your car and never had it hit the gastank

I am tackling this install now but have stock springs. Hopefully, I will be going to a coilover later in the year.

i had an ideal this morning, i forgot to adjust my pinion angle, we finished late last night, mayby that is the problem, the top could be leaning back, i did have them installe bmr lower control arm brakets when i got the diff built , i had edelbrock brakets on my 10 bolt with only 2 hole to choose from, bmr has a 3rd lower hole, and i went with the lower hole. will check next time.

Not sure if it makes any difference, but I have the aluminum cover as well.

Pinion angle could cause issues.

that could deff be it. And I have adjustable LCA to center the rear end anyway. I'm sure some LCA and cars move the rear end back more then stock too. I took the bumpstops off, no isolator and about 1.5 maybe 2 coils cut. It deff tucks right up to the gastank and never hit, I had it all apart right now it its never touched.

I put the TRZ anti roll bar on, that moves the PHR behind the stock place too, and has the thicker PHR brace in its place. its tight with the alum cover but its clears

How does it hit the tank when the panhard bar is between them?

ditto... and if you didn't install the torque arm the rear will want to angle way up toward vertical.

the very front of the tank sits above the rear still. its possible that it hits. once a car is lowered alot can happen due to weight and spring rates

my tank is plastic and at the very top is over the diff. it has some reinforcment ribs , that is what hits the diff cover, not by mutch, i am sure if i can adjust - it would cleare, i am not driving car yet(lots of snow) but as soon as i take it to shop again i will check pinion angle. i have some very good pictures of it but can't seem to post them, will try again. it keeps saying that this web site cannot be displayed? when i try and upload picture.

I cut me heat shield down, but its hitting the tank, or the heat shield? If the heat sheild you could cut it out there and gain another 1/2 if your car is super low? But I still htink its your P A being way off.
