Default Eaton Posi OR Truetrac Limited Slip

I am getting a moser 12-bolt and i called Moser and they told me truetrac was better than eaton posi. then the place where i ordered it from told me that the truetrac is noiser than the eaton posi. does anyone know if any of this is true.

I have sold dozens of Moser rear-ends with the Truetrak, and we also install quite a few of them. I have not noticed them being any noisier at all. My own Moser 12 bolt has the eaton in it, as I installed it nearly four years ago, back before Moser offered the 12 bolts with a Truetrak. If I had a choice, I would of gone with the Truetrak. Bob

Yeah, everyone seems to be liking the truetrac - as long as its durable for drag racing, I'd have no problem going with it.

I've been running an Eaton in my 12 bolt for 3 seasons now, and its working fine. Only negative is it clunks on tight turns (and I tried 1, then 2 tubes of the posi additive with no effect). As long as it doesn't do the one wheel peel at the track I don't care. It is rebuildable when the clutches wear out. But I probably will switch to the True Trac when it wears out if the good reviews keep pouring in.

I believe the Eaton uses cone clutches which = no rebuild when worn out.
Where as the trutrac has clutch plates and is rebuildable

Got things a bit confused there, Eaton has clutch plates and is rebuildable, Auburn std. series had cone clutches, and the TrueTrac is NO clutch plates just 2 worm gears like a torsen diff

Trutrak here and it is not noisy at all. I'm glad I got it instead of a locker.

this is incorrect the eaton can be rebuilt. you get your choice of 400#, 600# or 800# springs. a auburn posi cannot be rebuilt. not sure about a true trac though

I think 12 bolt trutracs have 3 pinions per side not 2 .
