love the rear but whoever sets up there gears should be shot
had to rebuild the center section after 12k miles and put in the SOLID pinion spacer unlike the crush sleeve that was in it

i had a post last year with pics and stuff about it

now its has a slight wine but same wine since it all went back together( i wanted it tight) also has alot more abuse since i rebuilt it

I have a hybrid of sorts. I have a Moser Houseing and 35 spline axles but have a Strange Pro Nodular third member with Motive performance gears and detroit locker. Absolutely love it and the place I bought it from set the gears perfectly. Very little whine from the gears.

Like Jays00ss I have a hybrid, moser housing/35 spline axels with a Strange Pro Nodular center section except that I have a spool. I love mine and its quieter than my 10 bolt was. Its been down the track about 35 times now never launching below 4000 and side stepping the clutch. I changed the oil in it after break in and when I checked it last(about 300mi ago) and it was still super clean. Its got around 4k street miles on it now as well.

this is the reason i went with epp because i had heard storys about people having problems and bob was able to get it worked out for them

I've only driven mine like 10 miles (northeast winter), but it seems just as quiet as my 10 bolt was.

The problems I have had with my moser 9 inch are axle shaft bearings . The bearings willnot standup to the rigors autocrossing and road events. At the end of the season the bearings have enough play in them , that it causes pad knockback when cornering.
For these kind of events the bearing needs to be a tapered bearing setup or double ball bearing setup.

Wink Moser

I wasn't, it was very noisy. I took it out after 300 miles and inspected it. Found the gear set up was incorrect. The pinion was set too deep and the gears where ruined (see link).

Mine was a complete Moser bought from a reputable vendor. Do your homework, inquire about warranty, noise, etc. From the looks of the thread a 15% problem rate means there are more than just a few isolated incidents. At our company we consider a 15% warranty rate catastrophic - then again we take it on the chin and do something about it. I guess if you aren't out anything 15% ain't squat, just few squeeky wheels.

Read this link.

I have about 1000 miles on my Moser 9" and it has whined from day one.You would think that with the amount of money you spend on a new rear they could set the gears right.

79.03% happy with their Moser is pretty darn good, as more people tend to speak up if they are not happy with something. A rear is something that takes a real beating too! Bob

I actually broke my adjustable torque arm (tunnel mount), and driveshaft in half....NOTHING happened to my Moser 9".
