i went with eaton on my last build (street car w/ a 10 bolt) it held pretty well to about 400rwhp and handeled nicely on the street. i didn't do TONS of corner carving, but when i did, the outside managed to keep up pretty well.

i did do tons of stop light drag tho...never had the one wheel burn out problem or anything like that, its a nice piece

so far $800...If I knew this was going to happen I would've just saved up more money for a 12 bolt or 9 inch....too late now....

My Eaton lasted about 4 years before I stripped an axle, which took the posi out with it.

My Auburn Held Up For A While...in A 10 Bolt Id Probally Use Them Again... Ovbiously A Locker Is The Strongest And The Worst For Handeling

Auburn Was A Nice Piece Great For Handeling.. Eatons Are Suppose To Be Tuff And Rebuildable So There Not A Bad Idea

So you want to throw more good money after bad?

It hurts, I know. But if your going to use the car for what it was built for then your going to have to put a decent rear in it.

Failing that, put a decent posi (not the most expensive one) and keep street tires on it.

find a used good unit untill you can affor a 12 bolt or 9 inch. as stated above. no sense wasting more good money on something that is proven to not take a beating..

yeah if you are staying on the street, stick with street tires and do the Eaton, can't beat that

I've had no trouble so far with the T2-R, 99.9% street on GS-D3s
and two passes on the Mickeys. I like the high bias especially in
hard cornering. It's not supposed to be a drag chunk though.

Eaton is the best unit we have found for most street applications as they are smooth, aggressive and rebuildable. Check out our site for pricing.

I'm not sure which uses which, but some types of posi units (cup and cone) are not rebuildable. Found that out teh hard way.

That would be an Auburn Gear Positraction.

I went with an Auburn Pro posi because I have an A4 and there are a few guys with A4's on this board pulling 100's of 1.5x 60 ft times with the Auburns. Also if you break it within 4 years (you will) Auburn will send you a new one for $100. With an Eaton, yes you can rebuild them but it will cost you more than $100 and you then have a rebuilt unit for more money than a brand new one from Auburn. In your case with a M6 just find a used posi until you can afford a real rear end. There isn't a 10 bolt posi that will hold up to the abuse of a M6, so go the cheapest route until you get a new rear end.

I have the truetrac with Motive 4.10's and it's been great so far. I haven't been to the track on it yet though. I run 315 DR's year round, and it's been great on the street.
