The new M9 rear is going to be more money, no doubt about it. It also includes a transmission crossmember, for whatever transmission you are going to use. The BMR equivalient is $254.99.
The chrome moly torque arm is easily worth at least $600.00.
I would highly recommend the back braces, which are $140.00.
If you call Moser, they are not going to recommend the M9 for street use. Why? Because the killer Moser 60ft torque arm is going to be noisy, and they don't want people buying this combo, then complaining about the added noise.
If you are needing to count every penney, then go with the standard Moser 9 inch, and reuse whatever torque arm you already have. If you do need a new torque arm anyway, then this new M9 combo isn't much more.
If you want a killer combination that got me a 1.29 60ft on dot drag radials in front of the LSX Shootout crowd, with a Powerglide to boot, then this is the rear to buy. Bob

I think people need to look at purchasing one based on drag strip reliability/longevity, not street use. Noise really can't be one of your concerns in a drag car. You typically have insane loud exhaust, stripped interiors, race carpet, !sound deadening, etc. Not to mention spherical rod end LCA's, solid engine mounts, etc. We already know there are a few with other torque arms running 1.1's-1.2's with other rear ends. For what you're getting, if you are racing, there doesn't seem to be a reason not to buy the M9. Not to mention the looks are killer!!!

Bob,
I am VERY interested in this package, but I have a couple questions that weren't addressed yet...
-Do the housings come with the control arm relocation brackets built in?
-Does it have sway bar mounts on the axle tubes?
-Only the torque arm is powder coated, not the housing?
-What is the package price with the Trutrack, aluminum center, brace, and drain plug?
Thanks

-Does it have sway bar mounts on the axle tubes? No, not at the current time. It looks like all Moser housings may be offered with this option in the near future as well.
-Only the torque arm is powder coated, not the housing? Correct. The housing can be optioned to be powdercoated.
-What is the package price with the Trutrack, aluminum center, brace, and drain plug? I will get you a total price when I get to the shop this morning. Thanks. Bob

On the left in this picture is Tim, from Moser. Tim came to Moser approx one and a half years ago, and has an extensive chassis background. This new M9 torque arm is Tim's design. One thing you will notice when you install it is that it was designed to clear everything! Another thing you will find out is that your car is going to get some killer 60 ft times with it. Bob
