Default narrowed and 325s

im looking for mid 5's in the eight, and im getting ready to order my 9" in a few days.

I was planning on 3" per side(6 total), 5bs wheels(15x10) with 325/50 MT radials.

What are you guys running? How narrow and what size wheels? Anyone who has this having problems with the 325s? Im not afraid to massage(beat the **** out of) the fender wells.

p.s. tried search, turned up minimal results.

mines narowed 2 each side, 15x10 with 5 inch back space, 26 11.5 15 ET streets, I have relocation brackets and had to cut some and weld pieces in there to clear my brakes. I dont see how some people do it 3 inches and still keep the ebrake.

I have my new Moser M9 rear narrowed one inch each side, running 15x10x6.5" backspace Weld wheels, with M/T 325 drag radials. It did not take that much hammer work to get them to clear. My car ran the number in the right column below on it's second outing. Bob

I don't think you will have anymore work to get the tires to clear if you keep them in the same basic location that I have them in. You just have to get the right wheel backspacing. Bob

I had to remove the bumpstop and put on adj lower control arms and that was it. My tires are M&H 325/50 which have a section width of 12.3 instead of the M/T 13.00 section width

We didn't have to do much to get my 325's to fit, and they do indeed hook! Bob

I just personally love that deep dish look, thats really my only reason for narrowing the rear since I won't be producing hp numbers like yours. Although slight weight savings and a bit more stout rear end are an added plus for sure!!!

I didnt have to change a thing in my car I just narrowed the rear 2 inches a side and went with 15x10 5 inch back spacing wheels you can use 5.5 to put them right where the wheel would sit from factory, like i said above with relocation brackets I had to do a little extra work to them to keep my E-brake but if you dont run relocation brackets the brakes will clear.

Doesn't grinding on your calipers take away its structural itegrity? I'm pretty sure thats a bad idea, infact someone was talking about that in another thread just a little while ago. Not that your suggesting that, I'm just saying.
Infact heres one thats going on right now, note post #9 https://ls1tech.com/forums/wheels-tires/808376-pro-star-question-camaro.html

if you get the right wheels you dont have to grind at all, I didnt touch mine and I know with bogarts you dont have to grind.

there is another option that i like and that is the 315/60 vs the 325/50. it will be about the same section width but with more tire patch. the 315 is a 30" tall tire and the 325 is a 28.

there is not that much grinding to be done and it is usually only on one end of the caliper where a casting nipple sticks out.

My Strange 12 bolt is narrowed 2.5 inches on each side with a Weld Pro Star XP 15 x 10 with 5.5 BS. I run MT DR in a 275 60 15. Make sure you center the rear end in the car before you go to hammering and cutting.

That is the tire I am considering using. The problem is the 315/60's 30" diameter is the same diameter as the outside of the wheelwell, so the wheelwell will have to be opened up. You also will need to narrow the rear and mini tub the car when using the 315's. Bob
