Question 40 to 60 mph test new axel,,on jack stands?

i have never started a car on jackstands,,let alone hit the gas pedal,,,,

I am installing a new axel soon, and was reading the write up on here about the install,,,when complete, the car is to be on the stands, ran to speeds of 40 to 60 mph, for about 10 minutes......

i know it all comes down to how well i have it secured, but is this safe to do? I will have to lower the car, and push it out of the garage and into my concrete driveway,,so IF something happens,,i'll have a second or two to react, and not just hit the floor and take off through the back of the garage...

Also,,I will be using 6 ton jackstands back on the rear area of my subframe connectors

Using a lift at this point is not an option as i have already blown up, and removed my ten bolt.

Any words of encouragment will be greatly appreciated.

No biggie, just put jackstands under the axle tubes. It doesn't take much throttle to get to those speeds with no load, so if the unthinkable were to happen and the jackstands fail, you won't move very far forward. I've run vehicles up to 90mph on jackstands to troubleshoot driveline vibrations. Just be smart & careful.

Oh ya you will be fine. I did the same as jmm98 and ran mine up to about 100 once troubleshooting driveline vibrations. Just make sure that you put the jacks in good places where they wont have a chance to slip. Or you could put all 4 corners up if you wanted to.

ya just a little logic, your best stands with the deepish V on the axle tubes. and put another set like 1/2 under the inner rear framerails, your SFC, or the LCA body rail for a fall on keeping the rear tires off the ground.
