If you see them all lined up side by side.... the 5th gen looks like it would have been a third. The third and fourth gens look like more modren cars. Better looking to IMO.

I really hope it doesn't turn out to be like the GTO's, no offense to anyone that owns one but there overweight and not fast enough for there power. Now drop the weight to 3600 and keep the 400HP minimum and it should be pretty good. Also make it a solid rear axle. Oh and give people the ability to completely turn off TCS ASR and anything else to do with traction so they can have fun when they want.

I gave it a 10. I love retro. Its going back to its roots. Cars that stray from its name's root, like the Charger (now 4-door sedan), get no love from me. It pulls the retro cue off without being, no-balled cookie cutter styling of the mustang and chally. The sharp lines and perfect blend of the newest and the old is great. Plus after seeing the new transformers movie; the car in motion is eye candy. I hope this thing comes in bumblebee colors or electron blue.

Weight alone doesn't mean **** to me. I could care less. It's about weight vs power. I don't care if the car weighs 5,000lbs, so long as they give it 700hp.
Granted, that's an extreme, but if the car weighs 3800lbs, and they give it 425-450hp, that's fine by me for a stock car. You can always strip weight or add more power.
I would never use weight as a deciding factor in whether I would buy a car or not.

I can't wait to get my hands on one of these cars when they come out.
Thanks for that. I was having a weight debate in another thread. I think you expressed what I am thinking very well. MOst people buy cars as TRANSPORTATION..... not as race cars. And GM will sell more of the lower power V8 or V6(if one is avabile) due to insurance and ga$.

It is actually 7 inches shorter than a 4th gen.
Very sharp point on the nose?
Hardly, it's not any sharper of a point than the 1st Gen.
And yes, obviously the 21 and 22-inch wheels won't be on the production car.
Weight will be probably slightly higher than the 4th Gen.
...we discussed all the details on weight in the other thread.
If America isn't buying sporty cars, then how did 166,000 Mustangs sell in 2006?

this thread is funny. this is exactly what happened for the c6 corvette. people either liked it or hated it. but now most people love it. even the guy that did the headlights for the c6 got threatened by a corvette owner!
its a new design and it will grow on you. people need to accept change and that car has it.
and my god, i cant believe people would want the challenger over the camaro! that car looks like it would be driven by the marshmallow man.
looks too puffy and almost every panel is the same from the 70's challenger! yuck! thats retro!

Take a comparison look with the CIEN....The C6 also seems to borrow a few lines from the CIEN concept.

1. Higher MPG
2. Lower emissions
3. Better handling
4. Faster
A heavier car is going to have to have a smaller engine to keep the MPG up and emmisions down. Which I don't really care about but I am sure the gov does.
As for handling and being faster, well its a sports/musle car if you don't want that then why do you want this type of car? just for looks? as far as wheels and gauges. I don't think the wheel choice or gauges are going to make the difference as far as weight goes.
