Kind of funny one guy even says "Gt500 beats SS no problem, just like SS beats GT, just like GT beats Camaro 6 cylinder"... What they are talking **** about beating six cylinder camaro's now? WOW

I really wonder why "car guys" still incessantly argue the stock timeslips etc. Once the modding starts, it's all useless.... a cammed LS3 in the camaro will be a force to be reckoned with, just like a GT500 pushing 15 lbs of boost and a GT with 150 shot of nitrous. All running the same timeslips after modification. Yet they still argue and argue about stock timeslips.

what causes me concern is...
The two (?) posters on that thread commenting on the "cheapness" of the new Camaro interior.
While everyone's got an opinion, I do hope those are not average. A crummy interior will turn off a lot of potential v6 buyers- that is, non-hardcore performance fans.

Haha, they are worried and its great. What is even better is they are having to compare the SS to the GT500 which aren't even in the same price range. They better just pray the Z28 doesn't get produced

I built one on GM's website with 2SS, engine cover, stripes, and polished rims. The price was $35,400 before TTT. With 0 down and current rates on a 60 month loan, that put the payment over $700 per month. Thanks, but no thanks. That's a little too rich for my blood. I'm sure many on here will be in the same boat.

Um I don't know where you are getting your GT500 price, but MSRP on a 2010base model is like 47k, and the vert is over 50k, the 2SS is just over 34k. even with the RS package you still come in shy of 35.5K. So I don't see how you can consider these comprably priced. Base model comparison there is a 13k difference. Sure you can load your SS up with all the options and get the price up there, but do you really need your engine cover to match the exterior, or the orange accent package, or hell even the 4k dollar rims?

Wow, really? I just completely upgraded my suspension and this car is near if not > 1G handling. BMW's are my bitch now. The "track pak" is mild compared to my setup.
Upgrading the suspension on this S197 has been the most fullfulling thing I've done to a car in a long time. Hella fun.

Hmmm, I'll have to do that. I'm intrigued with the IRS on the camaro, but the car is so heavy at 3800lbs. We'll see how well she handles on the track. Link the articles, I'd like to see them.

I thought my car had "great" brakes but after upgrading the suspension I now see the stock GT brakes are SEVERELY inadequate. I was thrilled with the braking until I upgraded the suspension and now the brakes are my weak point. Lotsa fun upgrading this car but expensive. Aftermarket brakes are so f-in expensive. I my just go slotted calipers, better pads and S/S lines...
for every upgrade you do, you realize it has revealed another weak point in the factory parts. These cars are so underengineered it's pathetic.

I've read/watched just about all the 3 way comparisons that I could find on the net....and the results are usually along these same lines.
