No ****, that'd be like Ford pulling themselves from their lineup and selling nothing but Mercs, Mazdas, and Lincolns....

the only reason to make FWD cars is to make small car more compact and have room at the same time. as for handling if you are wanting to built a performance car the last thing you want to do is make it FWD...that is a quote from some random racing engineer. plus i think FWD cars are for a time were cheaper to produce.

kill Chevrolet? how Chevrolet is GM. they would sooner kill off holden or any other sub-brand than to kill off chevrolet. V8 wise only chevy and cadis make them. kill off chevy and what choice of V8 do you have......cadi.

similar chevy is a major part of GM's global plan. holden supplies RWD frames, Chevy supplies V8s and trucks, and so on and so farth from the other brands

G8 is coming for sure. The GTO/Monaro have been greenlighted as well as the RWD Impala. Am I the only one thinking reasonably here? GM's not going to put out a volume 500HP Camaro! I think a very limited edition MIGHT be feasible, but I'm thinking the LS3 is gonna be the top engine for the Camaro.

I dunno, guys. I have a bad feeling about the future of GM muscle. The Vette is obviously heading in the right direction, but I just have this sinking feeling that GM will either make it

A. Underpowered
B. Too expensive
C. Chock full of innane and unnecessary options that will weigh the car down.

The new Camaro needs to ******* DOMINATE the competion like it did when the LS1s were new. After such a long hiatus, it would make a very bad statement if it didn't.

At this point I agree on the LS3. They did it for the LS1 and I'm sure theyll do the same for the LS3. I'm not sure how theyre going to have "multiple" v8 options as they have stated. They might be referring to the stock LS3 and the "exhaust" option as two different engines? who knows.

Chevrolet DOES make more than one V8....lessee...

4.8L, 5.3L, two 6.0L's, the new 6.2L's, and the LS7(plus whatever I might be missing and the aluminum versions of the truck eights...) So there certainly ARE some different V8's that could be thrown in...

Im saying in the sense that im not sure how they will package the car with different V8s. IE what trims, power levels, price differences, ect. Course they have plenty of V8s, heck they could use a northstar but i think the car would do fine with the 3.6/6.2L combo. Im basically hoping that use of the 6.2 in both camaro and vette would cut production cost enough to make it the entry level V8 at reasonable price

You know, I actually got to thinking about what GM means by two sixes. There is an engine that would be perfect for the base Camaro that is relatively cheap to build yet fairly enthusiastic. Does anyone remember the baby 2.8L derivative of the 3.6L that is in the Cadillac CTS value-leader package? It produces around 210 horses and a bit more than that in torque. That engine is supposedly less expensive than the 3.6L and likely more fuel efficient too. The only other V6 I can see as fitting the "fuel efficient" bill is the 3900 with the DOD technology sourced from the Impala, which also is supposed to be fairly cheap to produce, but is a bit less of a slouch compared to the 2.8L. Oh well, just a thought....

My choice would be the base Z28 having 400 hp and the SS having 500 hp and I would love to see a ZL1 Camaro available in limted production with the close to 700 ponies. The limited special order production would make them instant collectables and in years to come possible Yenko or COPO status. Just my 2 cents.

i just want to see GM be on top with every stupid model ford comes out in their rustangs...they have there big dog gt500 we have our SS or ZL1 ss being more likely... and then a z28 model that of course spanks mustang gt and 03 cobras so 400HP base....as for the vette it has to be better than the camaro but i dont care cause for the total money spent on buying a vette then insuring it will far out due the new camaro and with all the money you save with the camaro you can do a few little things and be spanking everything else....im not a big fan of the IRS but if ford does it then we GM should do it too and do it better to compete.

The LS7 comes from the GM Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI.

true because the gt500 handles horribly. for the class that its in, the only thing its got going for it is power.

If the GT500 had been what the supercharged Saleen S281E is, Ford might actually have made us bowtie guys sweat a little bit. As it stands, the 03/04 Cobra was a better performance car...

Corvette will never ressurect a Corvette SS simply because there never was Corvette SS. Yeah I've heard alot of talk about an around 600 - 700 hp corvette and I'm sure they'll do it so I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually put the LS7 in the Camaro SS or make it the standard for the corvette engine.
