^^^ You're right it seems like no matter how many years go by i could still sell my 01 SS for the same price as I paid for it a few years ago.

All you have to do really is keep it clean + don't drive it everywhere.

I don't know if I'll want a 5th gen or not. Guess I'll see what they come out with. And I won't be buying an 09. If I do buy one, it'll most likely be the 2nd or 3rd yr 5th gen. Regardless, I'm keeping my 4th gen. It's my DD now, but I'll be buying a truck soon as my DD, and the Camaro's going to become my "weekend toy."

Like any other car that is new or redesigned it will have its problems so I don't think that buying the first year it is out is smart. After market parts will be more expensive also till it has been out for a while. It would take some money management but modifying what you have over the next few years and then purchasing the V gen the second or third year it has been out would be the way to go IMO.

One thing to think about though is the way gas prices are going lets hope that it doesn't aid in stopping the production of the new car.

Call me crazy but I think the last generation was the best EVER and I wouldn't even take a new one over them.

The T/A's are a supremely wicked looking car that would pretty much scare the sh*t out of you when you see it in the rear view.

And the SS Camaro's are a clean, muscular design that just screams "BADASS".

Trade them for a '69 wanna-be that weighs a few hundred pounds more and looks to be much bigger?!

Um...no.

I got rid of my 04 GTO for a low mile 00 SS because of this, its was SOOOOO BORING to drive. You can feel the weight, the body rolls like crazy, etc.
If you're idea of driving excitement is piloting a gigantic car that jiggles nervously over the road, shiny plastic interior squeaking away, whose live rear axle skips over every expansion joint and understeers at the mildest hint of steering imput then by all means, keep your 4th gen. That's exactly what they are like to drive.

They feel exciting because you never know when an interior part will fall on you while driving or if you'll suddenly head into the ditch when it snap oversteers. I thank my good senses everyday that I didn't waste 30 large on a WS6 when they were new.

GM's best and most dedicated RWD minds are engineering the next Camaro at Holden. You can be assured it will have excellent construction inside and out, a very rigid body, a world-class IRS suspension and very European driving dynamics with excellent handling. It will also have signature Camaro styling echoing the timeless originals and will never be mistaken for anything else or something bloated and smoothed to oblivion out of the 1990s like the 4th gen.

If all of that sounds bad to you, I pity you. But you've already got your ride so look forward to hanging onto it and living your life a quarter mile at a time.

Look, you for one have no idea what our F-bodies are and you to have a GTO that is not the original GTO to slam our new F-bodies shouldn't say a word! Your GTO from an Holden doesn't at all look like a V-8 let alone a GTO! The Camaro was always something that allot of people enjoyed! Your GTO is what, a heavier car by 400+ lbs than the Camaro 4th Gen that looks like a Cavalier on steriods! Get a life dude. LOL

Put a downpayment on the 5th gen and own both. Even tho I don't own any car yet, I would make ends meet to own them both. If I had the money, I would own every generation of Camaro. Each has their own sleek design that hooks you.

Speaking of dying with a car, there was someone in the states that was buried in his Corvette.

Come 2009, when a loaded new Camaro is 40k, and a used 2006 Zo6 is the same price, I'll choose the 500hp Zo6 any day of the week.

It'll be a while until a C6 Z06 will be $40k. Around here they're still selling well above MSRP used.

I would never spend 40 grand on a car that has probably been beat all to hell. And for a Z06 to be 40 grand it prbably will have a lot of miles and/or problems.
