Thumbs up 2010 V6 Camaro.... Sleeper Time

Just wanted to express my opinion about the 2010 V6 camaro.
Mainly the coupe with the RS package. Most likely around 25K, more horsepower than a 08 mustang Gt, 20" wheels. This thing is gonna be a real competitor now that gas and insurance is so high.

I Give it about 1 month after its released before ATI procharger and Vortech has a kit out bumping the power up to 425+ at the flywheel. And ofcourse all the other companys out there making headers, intakes, ect.. Ill be real surprised to see how fast this little guy will be? I can see a 6-speed Procharged coupe with exhaust going at least 12.20's... Agree or Disagree i cant wait!

Im with you on that, Sadly most here will disagree and go by the words of "V6 is a girly car and worthless to mod"

But im with you the V6 will be a dam good performer.

"Nice run, whatcha got under the hood?"
"Oh, just the V6."

It is a girly car and worthless to mod IMO when a 422hp ls3 is available.

Although it is no denying this was a very good move for the new camaro to produce a solid performing v6 car. It will pull in more male buyers on top of the female market.

But it is definately not for me. If I had the cash to buy two of them I would get a v6 just to see what I could do with it for ***** and giggles.

If you are going to get that extensive and supercharge it, the Stang will be a much better platform. One, they already make everything for it. Two, with an extra litre of displacement it has more potential. Three, with more rods/pistons to spread the burden, the stock mustang motor will take more power before it goes boom. Four, the GT is a couple hundread pounds lighter. Five, and probably the most important, you are not seen as being a girlie man for buying the "little motor" version

I think there's gonna be alot of guys in those sixxers getting VERY disappointed when they go after LT1s and late model GT's.....unless they're pushing some nice boost. Too many ppl focusing just on the HP figure and making lots of assumptions.

And BTW, aren't there already a couple of topics open about the V6???

I don't see it happening stock for stock with equal drivers. But that's not to take anything away from them once they're modded up really well. Look at some of the boosted 4.0 Mustangs right now that are running in the 12's and even 11's. These new age sixxers love boost. I'm sure there's more than a few guys out there that are gonna discover just how far the sixxer 5th gen can be pushed.

FWIW, I could see the V6 model giving some older GT's lots of headaches. But that's the march of technology for ya.

Thats dumb, Thats like me telling you why buy a LS3 camaro when you can get it in the Vette which is a better performance car then the camaro.

But I do agree with you that if I had the money I would also go straight for the V8 model. But as u can tell I started out with a v6 camaro and it had full boltons and was a pretty dam good performer....quicker then most cars in its class and MUCH MUCH better then any 4cyl honda/nissan/toyota IMO. Great gas mileage to...so IMO the V6 is a great entry level car to someone who is new to performance.

The 3.6 motor is a pretty good one to as well.

A nice 31rwhp and 19lbs torque increase from just intake/exhaust its pretty good.

Maybe 04 & earlier GT's? As for the S197 GT's, DONT COUNT ON IT!

Noobies. The newcomer very quickly realizes he smurfed up & should have gone with the 8! I feel a good entry car for a "new" performance seeker is a stock RWD V8 or in this case.......the SS.

Yea, I wanna hear you say that when you go to hand the keys to an SS over to a 17 yr old with less than a few days of experience behind the wheel. Say hello to Mr. Wrecked SS.

On that note, the V6 models are a good option for less experienced drivers looking to get into their first RWD vehicle.

"Say hello to Mr. Wrecked SS"

IMO, the V6 versions are for those who cant afford the extra $$ for the V8 variant. I consider a V6 a poser. Performance begins with a base V8 car! Also, what kind of person jumps into a high power car & wrecks it immediately??? If you are responsible, this will not happen.

IMO SS buyers are those who can't afford the real man's car, the vette. Those SS camaros are for girls and worthless to mod. You're going to need a big shot to catch me in my vette. Losers!

i started off with a '00 V6 Camaro and i loved the car. I couldn't touch insurance on a V8 when i was 17 until i sold it at 19. I waited another year and finally got my '96 Z28 and then sold that after a year and a half and bought my Vette. I'd rather have the V8 just because you'll never get the exhaust to sound right on the V6 of the 5th Gen BUT i'll never say that with a few mods and some boost that it won't suprise ya

The base V6 and base V8 Camaro probably be a $5,000-$8,000 difference in price.
The Camaro SS and Corvette will be around a $20,000 difference in price...
While I understand you are mocking the village idiot (0000000000) its a bad comparison.
While the V6 Camaro will be a vastly better car than the V6 mustang or Challenger, there are still better cars out there if all you want is a little bit of performance and good looks.

i beleive a close to 500bhp would be reality with a t76 t4 turbo on the v6
even a t70 mp turbo would put down some gt grilling heat
