Curious does anyone seafoam the LSx motors to remove carbon buildup? Seafoaming works great on import motors that run an EGR systems that recycle spent exhaust gases back thru the intake systems...

Not sure that procedure would even apply to the LS2 motors that are aged? Last time I seafoamed my 1uz-fe motor the engine ran better and stronger afterwards... A noticeable difference..

Seafoam can also be used to run thru the fuel systems and oil too... Thoughts on Seafoam anyone?

my buddy applied it to my LS1. after I let it set, I blew some nasty *** smoke out! Actually blew it all over a cop when he was pulling into my neighborhood

Yeah, well the big black smoke clouds coming out of your exhaust pipes while seafoaming is the carbon buildup being removed from the combustion chambers from years of build up... I too created a smoke screen when seafoaming, neighbors got pissed and almost called the fire department.....

Cleaning out the combustion chambers cannot be a bad thing.. I did hear of plugs being fouled after seafoaming but that was on the most sever cases I read about..

Think about it, freeing carbon caked on buildup should free up horsepower to some degree and be benificial to the motors....

I actually diluted the seafoam with water then ran it thru the motor and let it sit for 10 minutes...Crank the motor and smoke city... I guess there is different methods to using it..

last i checked... Seafoam is used to remove moisture and deposits. now why in the world would you dilute it with water

Woooooops... Did I really say I diluted seafoam with water???? Total brain freeze fellas as I was probably thinking radiator coolant with water and or was probably half asleep during that post..

9000tho1ss - I am not so convinced I should appologize for being redundant on starting this seafoam thread... However, I really didn't think to use the search function on this one to your credit..... Curious? Isn't every technical post regarding repairs and or fixes redundant on this forum when you really start to think about it?????? Maybe some more then others...

Now if everyone just used the search function and didn't post there would be no new posts and this forum would die out. Right or Wrong?

OK sorry OT and I am not being an *** or jerk just trying to understand this, you just told him a few posts ago to use the search function this whole bit on how there are thousands of posts on Seafoam. Shoot I am new here not trying to make enemies but hey if the search function is there I am all for using it. I am curious why all the sudden the change of heart?

And yes most of the time the search is for the normal things that everyone does like general maintenance, spark plugs, header (lots of info here on the different types I get bored at work and search the **** outta the site), intake, exhaust, oil changes, i would throw sea foam in there.

I did like the video very cool. The search is for you to find a thread already started on the subject, if there is input needed or you may want to add add it there. But thats just me.

I do like the smileys with beer lovin it makes me happy.

Well threads can be updated, links can be inserted on new posts that are relevant to the topic, you can make a new thread short and to the point where as an old one may be 10 pages long...

There is alot to consider with redundancy threads... If your just looking for attention and to lazy to use the search function then that could be retarted... That was not the case with me I assure you...

Getting off topic...How about seafoaming your cooling system (water)...Just joking...:

Seriously, I always wondered if seafoaming could clog or effects the cats or O2 sensors? I have read that some of the dislodged carbon can foul plugs...Never heard anything negative about the cats or O2 sensors... Thoughts on that?

Ok I will answer just because I understand, hahaha as a noob and search is always my friend.

Seafoam is a gas or petrol (i believ) based product that doesn't release but burn carbon from your engine. sooo.... you get the smoke if it messes up your sensors you won't notice for a while if you notice it's time ti change em anyways cause well sensor keep new engines running strong unless you own a first or second gen camaro or fire chicken then you don't have to worry about electronis.

I use LUCAS Injector cleaner / upper cylinder lube. Use it one or twice a year
