Default Revelation

I finaly got a promotion and a raise and a great steady girlfriend, bought my first home by myself all withion thelast year. Both my camaro and blazer are 2 door cars and I sometimes have to take customers out. Never the less I am feeling pretty sucessful for a college drop out. So I decided to torture myself and test drive the new 3.6 direct injection CTS. I drove that car and fell in love with it, the center console and dash is the nicest interior that I have ever seen on a car. I wish I had 45k, seeing as how GM is giving cars away there was a sale at the dealer this morning so I went down, picked out a silver one. Sticker was 46,500 talked um down to 37,000 with the trade in of my 2002 Z28 I could afford the payments. As we were doing the paperwork I was looking through the window of my Z as they were asking me for the keys.... I got up, smiled at the salesman and said, Im sorry, im really sorry, i cant buy this car, he offered to work on the numbers. I said, can I get teh same monthly payments without trading my car in, he said no, i said have a nice thanksgiving. CTS = dope car, but no CTS will ever be as dope as my Z28, WTF was I thinking?

Smart to walk away. They were trying to rip you off with that deal BIG TIME! They have lots of room to work down from sticker in these times.

Here is what's wrong with this picture.

You have a Blazer and a Z28.

You are trying to trade the Z28 on another car.

WTF are you thinking?

Trade the Blazer, buy the cool CTS as a daily driver.

Retire the Z28 to weekend/pleasure duty only.

Quite simple really.

You can thank me later. Happy Thanksgiving!

CTS-V would have been worth it.

Yeah I was wondering why he didn't go this route as well? Either way, glad you didn't sell the Z.

Now there's a solution. Once you've owned an f body its hard to get rid of them.

Now THATS a nice *** Blazer. You should have mentioned it was a K series fulled sized Blazer rather than S10-type.

In that case, I amend my statement.

Keep the Z. Keep the Blazer. Save a bit more cash for a downpayment, then buy the CTS without trading anything.

Those blazers rock. My father had a white one, two door full sized, we called it OJ. Reminded us of OJ's Bronco. I love those Blazers. Good job keeping both, That is so bad *** that you stood up and walked out of there. CTS's are sweet as hell, the interior is so sweet at night too with all the lit accents under all the trim, but I think you made a wise decision. Nice. Here's to you.

Can't blame you for wanting a nice luxury car in your line-up. I'll probably be selling my '02 Z for a Cadillac in a couple more years. But I'm keeping the '98 Z so I'll still have an LS1 F-body in the garage...plus the old school Nova.

Think I'll be looking more at the STS though. Not really a fan of V6s myself, so the CTS would be a hard sell for me. And the CTS-V is off the table because I'm not interested in a daily driver with a manual.

They make an auto version but I could deal with a manual anyway for a 565 HP supercharged 4 door DD'er. I heard it beat a BMW M-5 around the track at Nuremberg by 14 seconds. It is simply the fastest production 4 door coupe in the the world be it around the track or in a straightline.

My uncle runs a GM dealership and has one coming in about two weeks. He is gonna bring it to KDS here and make some 1/4 mile passes I can't wait haha

RPM, that is one badass Nova! My first car in 83 was a 76 Nova, I still have a place in my heart for them!! To the OP, good job on keeping the Z.
