Default Not another "im Bored" thread but...

Hey guys,

I own a 2001 Camaro SS for about 3 years now and ill agree with everyone on here by saying that yes, the LS1 owns lol. Heres the thing, IM ALWAYS BREAKING ****! i dont think i drive my car any harder than most do but its starting to get rediculous. I do DD it and it now has 83,xxx miles on it as of yesterday (updated pics coming soon lol) I Realize that DD it is probably why i get so fed up with it but i cant afford a DD since i already own 2 cars. Other is an 86 WS6 with 52,xxx miles thats been under construction since 3 days b4 i bought the camaro. Ok, enough rambling ihave a few questions..

Do your guys cars break as much as mine lol??
How "Hard" do u DD it if u do DD it?
When the 86 is done, which would u DD?
and also, im thinkin about trading it on a 00+ WS6 since its what i really wanted but bought the SS out of necessity.. think thatll do it?

I drive it normally with at least one spirited run a day. Define what you mean by hard.

I'm not doing brake stands and whipping donuts at every intersection or launching it every chance I can get while running it up to top speed if that's what you mean by hard.

You can beat on your car, but if you beat the **** out of it everyday of course it's going to break

no no no lol, i dont rail on thing everyday lol

I dont really drive it hard per say, i just drive fast. I take the highways to work everyday so i make the most out of it But ill admit, i am 21 and rarely back down from a race especially considering 90% of my buddies are ricers or dumdumdumdum owners (same thing lol).

Im thinkin a new clutch, Dual cutouts, and gears i should be in love with the SS once again

I have had mine for over two years, and nothing has broken yet. Worst problem is I got a nail in a tire once....

I DD mine and I dont back down from a challenge somebody roles up and wants to run Ill do it. I usually cant keep from doing atleast a spirited run a day, or if someone riding with me wants to see what it can do I cant dissappoint them can I?

I drive a 95 Ford Taurus in the winter so about half the year and if I need a four door for something in the summer. I picked it up for 2000 and had it for four years with little maintenance been a great car, I would suggest something like this for a DD and save your toys.

I DD mine every day. I try not to get above 2500 rpm so I dont thrash the clutch. Granted I will race when the time comes but until then I drive it like an old lady.....sort of.

Get some Koni SA's on there, you'll wonder how you drove the car for so long without them

i've been daily driving mine for a lil while, and so far all i've had is a one of those baby taillights burnout, and some sort of electrical gremlin that i believe is gone now... but no serious problems. The LS1 is one of those cars thats gonna have minor things every once and awhile and probably nickel and dime you. These cars should actually come bundled with beaters...

Other than mods in sig and general maitenance (trans. diff fluid, plugs , wires Etc..) all I have had to do is PS window regulator and motor. Lucky I know. It sees 6500 usually at least once everytime I drive it

I beat on my car everyday...Always hammer it, use nitrous all the time too...My Lexus has 170,000 miles on it now, it never breaks or let's me down, never!!!.. All original parts except for one transmission I blew up from too much power... Dash lights are going out though...

Lexus V8 pal if you want a daily driver that will never break down on you... Hell, I don't even change the fluids in my SC400 anymore..All synthetic's though...

Just a suggestion that I will probably get ripped for... Frigg'n Japs can engineer a dependable ride I will give them that much...

My car sees the limiter at least twice each time I drive it. Then again I don't drive it alot. But when I do, I make it count.

I have had an F-body since I was 16. I have NEVER had one mechanical problem with my RS, Z28, or SS. Nor on my GTO, but that is expected since its like brand new.

Either way I would never DD an f-body again. The ride just sucks in comparison to other cars. If I were you I would sell the WS6 and pick up like a cobalt or something to DD and build up the Camaro. I'm sure you could have more fun with that than the old WS6.

Its all up to you though. I didn't mind DD'ing any of my F-bodies until I actually owned a comfortable car to drive.

Here is the problem to all you guys getting bored with your F-body or breaking things all the time. Do not daily drive your F-body. Get you a little economical car that you won't worry about it getting scratched and will net you a good 30mpg. I daily drove my Bolt on WS6 until about 4 months ago. Now I daily drive a 00 4 cylinder ford escort. I got used to the power and fun of my WS6 because I drove it all the time. Now that I drive the escort all the time, I am just dying to get into the WS6 every day. When I do get into it, about once a week, it is like the first day I bought it all over again. I love my car more now than I ever have!

I dd Drive my 01 during the summer weather permitting and I raise all kinds of hell in the car. I don't go wide open and blow the tires off at every red light but I do get it in the sweet spot a couple of times a day. I just turned 90,000 miles on the stock clutch with nothing done to the car other than oil changes and scheduled services. I had the master cylinder go out at 76,000 miles but that's the only part failure I've had. It's been great so far and runs perfect. Nothing like an LS1 making sick power and getting 28mpg.

I drive mine alot, and I've broken it on the Track just about every time. I'm putting the T56 in cause I've had more problems with the Auto. I don't plan on beating the hell out of it with the T56 in it cause I actually want to enjoy it, but I'll play with it when I do get the chance.

Man, to think I was going to buy a Camaro too...Sounds like the F-bodies are a break box with wheels... For a forum that loves the F-bodies it sounds like the owners wrench on them 24/7 just to keep them rolling... That just sucks ***!!!! We need to start making American cars better period... High miles means sell fast I guess when it comes to F-bodies...

The LSx motors themselves are very solid, right? It's everything else that breaks...
