not saying your wrong or anything, cause I'm sure you prolly know better than I, but are you talking about the fastest LSx, or fastest NA LSx? There are some ***** fast FI LSx all out drag cars out there, and Im sure the fastest 4V DOHC that you're talking about is FI.

My mom was dating a guy w/ an '07 red GT500. '02SOMZ28 and myself got to flog it all night at the drags after we set the "break in limiter" higher. Times fluctuated, but DA was high that night, and I think the best we managed was a 13.3. But that was on street tires, and conservative burnouts/launches fr. 2500rpm.

People still asking this sort of money for LS1 F-bodies need to step out of dreamland and into reality. C5 Z06s are high teens/low 20s now. NO LS1 F-body should be over 15 grand...

^tell that to a sports car dealership here that sells fbodies for 20+! Right now they have an '02 TA extremely modded (cammed w/ NOS) w/ 62k miles for 22k!!!!! Also have a cammed/full bolt on SOM hawk - '01 - for 21,995. NO way I'm paying that much for a MODDED car!

Why do they charge 20K+ for F-bodies? Because there are sheeple out there that will pay it.
Personally, I have convinced my wife that when I destroy the drivetrain in the Camaro, I need a 408 with twins. And still cheaper than a stock Terminator.

^Exactly. Especially in my towns Pampa/Amarillo. A lot of richy parents are buying their spoiled kids an Fbody! NONE of which know how to drive them LOL. Two pewter TA's in my town were wrecked by these HS kids along w/ a sonic blue cobra <--guy tried to box a tree......and lost!

keep the ls1 there is a new guy on here with a 98 camaro I think he was running low to mid 10s with a vortech blower, gear, T/C, ET streets, and some supporting mods in the suspension. His car should be stock block. To reiterate what everyone is saying start up cost in the vehicle, , thats c5 vette territory

Yea, for 25 large, you could probably be running a 800 hp LSX F-body around town with a bulletproof 6 speed and a ford 9 out back, laying waste to anything that can't run high 9's.dum And get high teens or more in gas mileage.

You could make your car faster than a terminator for $3k but thats about the only mustang i would even consider but seeing that these cars are 5-6 year old I wouldn't dare pay what people are asking for them. You need to read this message board more because you could make your car a absolute streetable monster for less than you think

At the end of the day, clearly understanding your goals should help you with the decision.
If it comes down to pure performance:
--Stick with your Camaro if your goal is to be able to beat a stock Terminator with relative ease. Slap the PRC heads on your setup and a 100 rwhp shot of N2O and you should be able to find low to mid 11's with ideal track conditions.
--If you're looking to build a car with 600 - 700 rwhp and maintain some form of comfort and reliability on the road, I'd recommend going with the Terminator.
Plan "B" might involve picking up a C5 ZO6 -- slap a cam in there and go have some fun. The weight and aerodynamic advantage really start to pay off with these cars on the highway.

OP: I plan to pick up a termi when I can afford to have both Z as a DD and the termi. If you are really looking to make the switch then I take it because you are looking for something trapping in the 120s+? Otherwise if you are not going to really mod it to pull that then don't bother and keep your current ride. Spend some money and hang with them. Go big or go home. Doesn't make sense to be inbetween.

cobras r badass. if thats what you want over the camaro then go for it. but i will tell you now i raced a cobra. a three way race between an 03 cobra(CB exhaust), 06 mustang GT(ofx, tune, cai), me 98t/a(LT, ory). it was from a 40 punch on a 3way road. 40-150 cobra had me by 2 cars and i had mustang gt by 2-3 cars.
all im sayin is that you add a little bit of upgrades and you have one beat(stock one that is) but with a proper h/c setup. its you all day.
