Default Anyone have the complete specs for the LS9

i'm thinking of making an LS9 to put into my new project.. since i sure as hell won't have the money to buy one i figure piece by piece i can put it together. If someone could give me a link to the complete specs of the engine i would appreciate it! I'm not really looking for parts number because they will probably cost and arm and a leg but.. specs for the supercharger like i know it's the new eaton four rotor but just specs that i can meet or exceed for the engine

just FYI it would be cheaper (and more powerful) if you just did a forged 370 with FI. a stock ls9 (even if pieced together) will be rediculously expensive, as in +$20,000

yeah it's not very cost effective. Go with a 6.0 Truck motor and bore it out and build a 408 and s/c the damn thing. would cost about $8-9k or so with mostly new parts and a good set of heads. Much more cost effective

well i just figured doing something along the lines of a ls376, building the internals up adding a new eaton four lobe supercharger and i can say i have a ls9 and no one would really know the difference.. man it would be really nice if dart made an LS block..

well the gen3/4 engines are very fabrication friendly in that they can be put in ALOT of cars/trucks. The 6.0 truck motor will basically bolt right into my Vette. they are all almost the same when it comes to interchangability. i'm only saying stay away from the LS9 is because of the cost of them. they are a FORTUNE

yeah i realize buying the exact parts that make up an LS9 would cost me an arm and a leg.. but i just think i could build a near replica for around 10k.. i mean i could use the new ls3/l92/ls376 longblock 4.3k or for an extra 1.5k i could do the lsx376.. i realize even building a replica ls9 is going to be expensive but come on it's the dream engine right now.. another thing is my position right now.. i'll start my carreer in the United states Army in the next 6 months.. after basic i'll move to Ft. Rucker for WOCS and it would be much easier to take an engine with me than another car

it may make a lot of people drool, but why spend that kind of money when you can make a 370/402/408 with turbo, or procharger that would absolutely rock a stock LS9's world for half the money. You shouldn't put so much emphasis on the "name" of the motor, and more emphasis on the performance Would you rather say "I have a LS9 look alike that makes 550 hp" or "I have a 700 hp turbo LSx" and btw LSX is the REAL dream motor

I dunno, neither "replica LS9" nor "LS9 look alike" do much for me.

OP, are you going to be at Rucker for flight school or just WOCS? Cuz you won't see your car much while you're in WOCS. Except for the "WOC 500" LOL

to be honest a positive displacement supercharger kinds turns me on lol.. i'm just not a fan of centrifugal chargers.. plus i figure i'll make an easy 620 which is what the ls9 is rated at..

Then what you should do that would still almost be cost efficent is going with an LSX block and putting a Kenne Bell on that bad boy. Now that is power And would still be a replica that would smash the LS9 motor easily. I almost think there are more LS9 motors than LS series motors with KBs on them. Your looking at 650+whp easily, the only drawback from that combo is hood space pending on the vehicle it's going into lol.

No a couple guys have them on vettes but hood fitment is a real issue. Every single one I have seen go on a vette has mustered some really nasty results and I mean nasty. Here is a older thread on it, with some #'s on it It isn't easy to do on fbodys but vettes and trucks aren't as bad on fitment.
