Default 98 Trans AM buildup parts list... feel like im forgetting something!

Ok guys i know i have posted about this in the past but its narrowing down to getting my taxes so I want to make sure my list is complete and correct.

I will be dropping the motor and tranny and installing all of this at the same time...its going to take forever! lol, but well worth it!

**Parts I already purchased (not installed yet):

Vig 3600 stall, tranny cooler, tranny filter, fluid
New oil filter, Mobile 1 syn, K&N air Filter, K&N plug wires
OBX Headers, LS6 Intake, Ported TB

**Parts I need to purchase: (Totals around $4000)

new spark plugs
UD pulley, new belts
SFCs, Panhard Bar
Oil pressure guage, tranny temp guage
summit x pipe

PRC Heads (5.3 or LS6?? Gotta talk to Pred Z lol)
custom comp cam (specd by Pred Z)
Pushrod length checker, cam degreeing kit
Double Roller Adjustable timing set
lS7 lifters
Ported oil pump
Deluxe Gasket kit (arp bolts, mls gaskets, etc...) $400 OUCH
Push Rods
TUNE

I plan on more suspension mods, wheels/tires, 12 bolt, and built trany in the future but i figure this is a good start!

Suggestions and comments are more than welcome guys! Help me make sure i am doing it right!

Sounds like you have every thing covered in the 2 lists. Make sure you get a new O ring with your oil pump and if you can I would add some lower control arms when you put in the panhard rod. Good luck.

What about...
knock sensors, injectors, fuel pump (not sure if it's necessary, lifter trays p/n 12595365, 160 degree thermostat, coolant crossover tube and plugs if you don't want to hack the bottom of your intake manifold, maybe a wideband and a gauge pillar?

Yep^^^and bolts and coil pack mounts.

Good catch by devin on the knock sensors (and don't forget new harnesses) and LS2 lifter trays. Antifreeze.

And look for a used LS6 IM if you don't have one. An LS1 will hold you back.

Sounds like a good project

Thumbs up Looks Good!

Your Knock sensors will be fine, your not modifying anything below the valley cover... and the LS6 intake is a direct swap (save the EGR).

I say skip the 160 thermostat. possibly a 180 if you want to go that route.

Also, i'm sure it goes without saying but I would use this opprotunity to replace every gasket/seal I could reasonalbly get to.

I would go with the 5.3 heads with your set-up, but there are people on here with more knowledge than I. ]

Full tune up and that thing should really pull.

Best of luck!

Oh and if you dont mind, link me to some pics of that SD455!! Sounds sweet.
