Default Should I tune or wait?

Hey all, I'm new to this LSx game. I just bought an 01 SOM WS6 after owning a Grand National for the last 5 years. Just needed a change of pace. Anyway, the car is mainly stock, just has a Loudmouth catback and drop in K&N. Also has Eiback springs and chrome Z06 18's. I plan to buy a lid pretty much immediately. My question is this...will a tune do anything for me with such limited mods or is it a waste of money at this point? I don't plan to go crazy with this car. It will probably remain nearly stock. Some possibility of cam and/or headers but much further down the road. Any opinions? I would most likely hit TTP in Little Falls, NJ.

Thanks!

Stock tune will be more than sufficient. No need until after headers are installed.

A tune is always beneficial, even factory stock. I gained 15 on my wife's factory stock 2002 SS, she now only has a catback and a lid. For bolt-ons it is either yes or no. No if you plan other mods soon. Yes if you plan no other mods or very little, also helps if the tuner offers s discounted rate if you go back for a retune. Once you add a cam, then it becomes a yes, or any other component that really alters the fueling of the vehicle outside the realm of the stock tune.

For you, I would base it on how much they charge and how soon you will be doing the cam. You say it won't be for a long time, but we all know how that goes. You are ok at the moment, if you choose to wait on the tune.

I'll probably wait, unless TTP ends up doing some sort of special pricing deal. Then why not... Thanks again for indulging my newbie question.
