why do you want to do all the work to swap an LS1 into it? LS1's have came down in price so much, its worth it just to get one in it!

just my $.02

Well have you seen the car in person? Cause 6k for a V6 is insane, even if you are in alaska. 3k or 3.5k for a six banger.

100k tell that car is not worth it. Is there another Camaro near you?

You can tell him that there is another car even if there is not, and tell them that they want less, for a better car.

Ask them what the lowest they will go and then take 1k off and bring them cash. That is it. Phone neg. sucks. Money talks and bull **** walks.

well he still hasnt called back, but this is what he said before:

"I know 3,500 is out of the question, and the car value on nada for us is 5,850 bucks, i will ask my boss when he gets back if he will go for 4,500"

i wanted to say " are you not understanding where we live? we live in alaska, the economy is crap, and you want to sell a 6 banger for 6 grand! will 110k miles! I will give you 4 grand cash!"

....but i didnt cause im 18 and he was kinda raising his voice so i backed off lol....

i wish i could just sell the parts but no one wants them up here lol, i am willing to sell everything for the car for only 2,500 bucks! thats a engine, tranny, ecu wire harness, k-member, wheels and tires, all that stuff with all under 50,000 miles, is that too much to ask? what would you guys sell the stuff for? only offer i have is by my friend and he said he will give me 1,200 for everything so he can swap it into his 3rd gen camaro...its depressing..i bought it back from insurance for 650 bucks

I would keep negotiating with the dealer but dont pay anything over 4k for that v6, and thats still a little iffy... Do you have another car to drive? If so sit on the car for a little while and dont do anything rash, even if you sell the car for 2500 you are taking a loss on it. Give it some time and see what comes up, your buddy might end up offering more too if you let him sit on the thought of it or the dealer might come down even more.

Ur a ******* insane moron if you pay $4000 for a v6 with more miles then a ls1. I got my ******* 98 with 70k miles 2 years ago for $7000. Thats a insane price to pay for a v6 dude.. you could get a ls1 fbody for $5000-$6000 nowadays

yeah buddy thats a no go... don't be too desperate... like everyone says... too much for a v6. Don't let the guy intimidate you. Its YOUR money, not his. Its going to be YOUR car, not his. If hes raising his voice at you GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND LET THEM COME CRAWLING BACK TO YOU.

Wow. . . .Get a V6'er shipped.

You should be able to get one shipped and all for under 3k.

If you need to get rid of the cash, I will give you my PayPal e-mail.

Here is one. \/

Perfect roller

thank you for bringing auto tader to my attention, there is ALOT better deals on there, even if i have to ship the cars or drive them, only prob is i dont know how to tell if they are scams, alot of those prices for running high milage v6's seem to good to be true, unless those are people NOT trying to rip buyers off for a change....

is there any surefire ways to tell if its a scam or not?

and how do you guys reccomend going about shipping it? would you just ask the guy to ship the car and you will pay him extra? lol....now im half tempted to buy a running v6 and drive it back to alaska for under 4 grand haha

Might not be helpful, but go to the regional sections and ask someone local to scope out the car for you. You'll usually find someone helpful that will be willing to check over a car for you.

/\ That works too.

I would look one up. . . .

Find one you like, call them up and talk to the seller.

Like the one I put up is at a dealer of some sort. You can research the dealer before you give them cash.

Live and learn. Look at other cars and negotiate with them. Stick to cash & carry and scams will soon evaporate. Look hard and deep at the prospect before you even mention money.

You're young. Be patient and do your homework. Present yourself as mature and methodical. Become mature and methodical.

Good luck!
