ask the owner about his maintance. im sure the car will be sluggish if hes still running the 10 year old stock plugs and wires

Wiers looked brand new. IDK about the plugs though. I looked into the radiator and theres green coolant in there instead of dexcool which is really kinda turning me away even more. Not sure how much of a problem it could be...though I have heard of serious gunk problems from mixing the two coolants....

gunk shouldnt be a problems unless the system wasnt flushed prior to adding the green stuff. prestone even makes a green coolant thats compatible with dexcool.

might want to check out the fuel filter,, see if the air filter and/or maf are dirty.

2.73 gears? Maybe clogged cats? Possibly just needs a tune-up.
If you're worried about it maybe you should take it to a shop you
trust & have them check it out.

You know something? I was wondering if maybe it had different gears. Would 2.73 gears make the car a slug from a stop? Or what about the smaller 26lb injectors? Smaller tb cam? hmm. Im gonna call the guy tomoro and get the rpo codes to see what gears are in there.

I've had a couple of A4 Z28's. One with 2.73's & one with 3.23's.
Whether from a takeoff or on the highway, the 3.23's seem to make
the car accelerate faster at WOT. The 2.73's got better gas mileage
though. I've always wanted an LS1 with 4.10's but I don't want to
lose the gas mileage.

Take the car and punch at at 40mph. If it downshifts to first around 4grandish its the 2.73s. The 2.73 are better on mileage considering my v6 that I use to have had 3.42s and trying to get 18mpg was almost impossible.

When I first bought mine, bad plugs had it arching and feeling like it had an LSTurd. It could need a little maintenance, such as the damn near impossible to change plugs, or it may be a genuine slug. They're out there, but remember one thing. A turdly LS1 is still quicker than a freakish 99-04 GT.

+1 i use 93 octane in mine and nothing else and i get it from a place with clean tanks, but changing my fuel filter helped alot.

my car has 2.73's and its been tuned, it won't shift down into first if i'm going any faster than 37 mph. if its faster than that, it shifts into second at about 3000 rpm, maybe a lil more. but i can't stand it when punks with mustangs get beside me at about 40 and try to race me. then they never want to slow down to about 35, where i rape the little ponies. lmfao

The guy sent me the rpo codes on the door and the gearing isnt what I thought. Its 3.23 just like my last 2 ls1s. So gearing isnt the problem. I had 2 other people in the car also but still,I dont think thats the problem. I think im gonna stay away from this car. Like I said its a good price but I dont wanna buy a dog.

if they were adults, that makes a HUGE difference. I swear my car feels like a v6 with 2 adults in my car. makes it very hard to get loose around corners with just street tires, and my car is no slug. not as fast as many on this board, but I think most will agree that a bolt on/geared LS1 is no slouch. Go test it again, but by yourself.
