you got a vacuum leak somewhere. did you unplug any pcv lines and forget to plug it back up? tb could be stuck open, but highky unlikely. if you cant pinpoint anything, reset the pcm

pcv is non existant. 98 has special lines that i dont have so i plugged the tb one and the valve covers are not an issue.is there another pcv hook up i missed? tb is deffinately shut all the way. its so weird. it acts like its stuck full throttle.

I would check for a vacuum leak at the intake gasket. Ive dealt with this problem before.

Oops you right I was think of one thing and typed another. ^What he said try spraying something flammable and see if rpms go up. However if its trying to redline right away thats not a real possibility. Just out of curiosity how is it redlining if the tb is closed? If it is it must not be running well when its going up in rpms then??

i never let it get that high. i shut it off before it hits 3500. but it would, if i didnt shut it off. anyways i found the problem i bought an intake off of thomascreation and i never really looked it over. after all this i pulled the intake off and the back of it where the map sensor and brake booster hose goes is broke not real fixable. so thats the cause of my huge vacuum leak. now i need an intake. might as well be an ls6 one
