I would say go gto if u want a new car and (should) have 0 problems for a long time.
I however dont see how people even consider going gto. not sure what wins in a race but the gto has a few more hp, but weighs more. but the appearance, i find the gto ugly. i first got interested in camao/firebird because i thought no other car looked better.

i know i love the looks of a trans am but from what im reading the ls2 gto does just about 13 sec even in 1/4 mile and 0-60 in like 4.7 sec. it looks lik the goat is 300 lbs heavier than a camaro but if the goat is really that fast that may be why i choose the gto. i do think its fairly ugly though.

My buddy has a full exhuast auto GTO(LS1). With a 100 shot and I don't think it runs that well .. I wouldn't buy a LS1 GTO unless you got a good deal on it. Look at my sig. My car ran a 12.8 with just exhuast only. Get on LS1gto.com. And look around. And I think I could get a 12.6-12.7 out of my car with better drag radials.

i don't have much input other then this
drive both, and decide what you want. i personally much prefer the looks of the fbody over the GTO, which is why im so set on getting one. or else i'd find a dealership and trade my truck in on a ls2 goat and call it a day.
but i bet the GTO rides a bit better. it definitely has a better interior. probably doesn't have as many rattles etc. also has a less cramped engine bay. lol

I drive a freinds gto and fell in love.if i ever buy a lsx car i would look into these. GREAT interior. look suttle yet mean and the ls2 is a great bolt on platform. Best bang for the buck for a daily bolt on car.

depending on just how much you plan to mod test drive a cts-v also. cant make them fast but they can be made pretty quick and you wont find a more comfortable fully loaded gto. plus 04-05 have ls6 and 06-07 have ls2. just drive one and see what you think, i test drove one and was like"where do i sign". and dont let people tell you the rear will blow out blah blah blah.
