Weirdist coolant leak ever...
I was out and about Friday night when a giant cloud of steam decided to develop under my hood. I pulled into a gas station and had the car towed home... told myself that I'd deal with it in the morning.
Saturday morning, fill the car up with coolant, turn it on to find the leak... no leak. I tell myself maybe the car randomly over heated... and drive it around.
Car works great all weekend, go on a date, go run errands, no problemo.
Today.. leave work to go to taco bell, small coolant leak... dripping but nothing substantial. I drive home with a pepsi bottle full of water just in case I run too low.
Get home, fill the radiator up all the way with water, turn on car... coolant spraying everywhere because the leak is dripping onto the pulleys, of course since all the pulleys are wet I can't tell what one is getting dripped on...
Massive torrent of coolant dripping off of rear of engine, but I'm guessing it's cause my driveway is at a slant and it's just trickling back there and dripping.
Ideas on where to look?

Well looks like the leak has gotten bigger and is from behind the waterpump... it's pouring down the front of the block and onto the crank pulley.... and then spraying everywhere of course.
Time to rip some **** apart I guess...

Water pump gasket failure's are common on all the late model GM V8's. Usually you can just replace the gaskets and your good to go but you might want to replace the pump and thermostat while your there depending on the milage of the vehicle.

The water pump came right off, took 30 minutes....
I don't think I'll be replacing the pump, just the gasket. It comes off so easily I might as well wait for it to go before replacing.
