The t-top use thread got me wondering...

How many of you guys use your t-top shades? Do you guys have them on the whole time t-tops are on? I leave mine on during the day if its sunny. If I've taken off the t-tops in the evening, I leave the shades off when I put the tops back on. Its until Im done for the night that the shades go back on.

If its cloudy all day, the shades are off all day.

Those without shades, you have your t-tops tinted or do you take the abuse from the sun?

Mine are in 24/7... Wish my car was hardtop.. Never take my tops out either.

They are tinted fairly dark from the factory.. I think its like a 25-30 percent or so.

I take my tops out alot, but when they are in the shades are in. I like t-tops but wish solid tops were available (like a C3 vette)

Just wondering why you are asking? Got a new mod or product to develop?

I take mine out every now and then, and the shades go in with the tops mostly because I dont like loose items laying around, if they are installed they are out of the way. My tops are really dark anyway.

I do like the targa tops on the vettes better, I wonder if there is a way to convert ours to theirs without spending a bunch of money or time...

ditched those things a couple years ago in favor of tinted t-tops. my originals were in pretty bad shape and someone gave me a brand new set of dark charcoal ones (ebony maybe?) from a 2000 Firehawk that i used for a couple years. I sold them for $25 after i got the t-tops 5% tinted for $50

and even though it hasen't been proven on mythbusters (yet) I think that myth of t-tops cracking in the heat due to tint is busted since i had mine in 100+ degree AZ heat and they didn't crack

i bought my t/a with shades. i tried em out once and hated them; i bought the t-tops over the hardtop for the "skylight" in my roof. i sold the shades soon afterwards and made some $$

i just got my windows tinted yesterday, so i had them do the t-tops too. i just bought a new dash pad 2 weeks and dont want that to start cracking, so the tops got tinted as well

i take my t-tops off a lot. they're tinted and i don't have the shades. sometimes i wish i had some when the sun shines through the top and hits my eyes, kind of annoying. but i'd like to see a hard top conversion made as well.

Never use the shades. Got two sets sitting around in the shop. My tops are a little darker than factory.

Have a set but never use them. I plan to get them tinted 5% along with my front windows. T-tops would be even sweeter for me if I could grow a mullet.

I have a hardtop but I would probably either tint my 5% or leave the shades on if the t-tops were on.

Very seldom. If I know it is going to be sitting in the sun on a hot day I will put them in. My car is not a DD though.

When I had a T top car, I would leave the shades attached to the tops at all times. I either wanted the tops out or no sun coming thru.

I tinted my 5%, when i got the car there wasnt any shades in it.
