Default What would you recommend to buy first?

I'm on the SLP website and I'm thinking about getting a small mod for the time being till I go with something bigger like headers, cam, etc.

I have narrowed it down to a underdrive pulley and the mass air flow sensor. They are both about the same price and I was just curious on which one would be the better buy for now.

Underdrive is what I would do first. I have both now, but if I knew now what I knew when I started adding parts I would have gone UD pully first.

Neither. Don't waste your money on those. Save for headers - they will be worth it. The stock MAF flows just fine and the underdrive pulley isn't really worth the cash IMO. Nice numbers btw - that's about what I made with full exhaust and a lid.

don't buy either and put it towards some good shocks since i see you have springs. don't spend money just because you have it. set it aside for something that will make a reasonable difference or help you in the long run.

Lol the thing is, I don't have full exhaust. It's stock everything with the 3" CME in the back with an aftermarket muffler. I also have the bellow (doesn't do much though).

I'm already going to buy headers I just want to stick a cheap little mod on the car for the time being. Also would it be better to get headers BEFORE cam, valve springs, and pushrods? I for sure have the money for a camshaft kit, just saying.

HAHA I'm more focused on getting my power and tq up a bit before I really go with anything like that. The springs were put on by the previous owner in case you were wondering.

I would get headers before anything else. If you have enough for a cam, you have enough for headers if you get Pacesetters and their Y-pipe. I think they are around $500 - check TSP out. Also, don't be afraid to buy used - I bought my headers, y-pipe and lid for $290 and everything works fine.

I would definitely skip the MAF. Not at all worth it, IMO.

Headers would be best before the cam, yes.

Save the UDP for when you get a camshaft.

Save for something around headers caliber.

They are Jet-Hot's ceramic coated headers. Here is a link to the pacesetters from TSP if you don't want used though. http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...id=182&catid=8

i do not want to offend you but that's exactly the answer i was expecting haha. everyone wants to add power first, but please don't forget about all those "less important" down the road. just those other parts that really only determine the minor things such as how the car rides, turns, stops, and hooks.

i love watching people dump $2500 on H/C/I, then $2k on trans/stall, then $2k on a rear, and then GASP at the idea of spending $400 on a set of shocks that will make the car ride, well, less like mush.

not bashing you, just trying to frustrate you into upgrading what is in my opinion one of the most lacking parts of our cars from the factory
really though, you're halfway to a set of decent shocks. they'll make a much bigger difference than an extra 8-10hp. just think it over.

sounds like you're planning on it, just after power. that's fine, just don't forget, because most people overlook it and it makes a huge difference.

IMO the first mod to an A4 should be a stall

This... No offense to anyone but throw out everything they said. Do not WASTE, and yes I said WASTE, any money on any of those other mods before you get a converter.
It is THE mod for A4s. You will not do any other single mod (except nitrous) that will give you as much bang for the buck.

Everything else is just small things that two of them together will equal the price of a converter but not give you a 1/4 of the ET reduction.

CONVERTER!

I would so suspension first...subframe connectors, lower control arms, and torque arm. Then a stall and after that headers.

whoa didn't see the OP had an A4. you're not going to be even be able to do heads/cam on an A4 without upgrading the converter (unless you're planning on a really small cam).
