Default PCM update and air induction cleaning service for SS

I took my TBSS for a warranty repair. When I picked up my SS from chevy dealership, I was told I need a pcm update and air induction service. My SS has 41k on the clock. I bought it used from carmax awhile back with extended warranty as a precaution. So my question is, do you guys think I should get these items mentioned above done to my SS? I think the dealership may try to pull a fast one on me. All I done to my SS is CAI and catback.

I would do a little research on it. PCM update maybe. Air induction service, they're trying to screw you on that one.

yea i agree. even if i need the pcm update, that should be covered under the warranty so therefore i shouldn't have to come out of pocket.

yea I think the pcm update had to do with gm dealers diagnostics..... I think they were having trouble with VATS when they hooked them up

something like that

You don't "need" a PCM update unless you're noticing a
problem. If it's just for their convenience, screw 'em.
Air induction service, WTF? I guess that's check for the
weatherstripping, and rat you out if you have a lid?

I'd just stay out of the shop unless you've got a buddy
on the inside. If not, you're just a wallet with feet.

Id tell them to FO personally, a tune and some TB cleaner and air filter will be 10 times cheaper and ten times better.

If your Carmax extended used car warranty doesn't cover said recommend services, then show 'em your balloon knot, and push a hard fart.

i have worked for dealerships my entire career, 1994 to present. don't know about the update, unless there is a recall or service bulletin. If thats the case, should be free. A far a the induction service, that is the same thing a throttle body cleaning, and "seafoaming" the engine. on my personal vehilces i do an induction service every 15k miles, cust. vehicle i usually rec. starting around 45k and then 30k there after.
hope this helps

Yea, I thought the stealership was trying to take money from me on a pcm update and air induction cleaning service. It's crazy because the SS is basically brand new to me and it runs real good. So I didnt fall for their tricks. But, I did clean my air induction on my TA cause it damn needed it. The gas mileage has improved and the throttle response is on point.
